Car Repair Stress
There’s no denying that all of us carry some degree of stress and trepidation when it comes to leaving the care and repair of our car in the hands of someone else. Especially considering the numerous stories and warnings we report where dealerships scam customers to squeeze out an extra buck and/or some very questionable---if not inept---repairs are made that remain hidden until it is too late.
Stress Relief and Some Useful Learning on Car Repair
Today we are sharing a recently posted video from Eric the Car Guy YouTube channel with an ASMR video that turns a brake job into a relaxation video while at the same time provides some useful learning on car repair and what a mechanic does when giving your car a brake job---the correct way.
ASMR is an acronym for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response---a pleasurable mental and physiologic response associated with triggering sounds such as whispering, tapping sounds, brushing sounds and slow hand movements.
Colloquially, it is referred to as “a brain massage” and is used not only by many as a way to relax, fall asleep, or take some “me-time,” but is also used by marketers to lull a potential customer into associating a product with feel-good thoughts and emotions. There’s always a dark side to everything---right?!
That said, if you want to learn more about ASMR, take a look at the last video at the end of this article. However, if you have never previously experienced ASMR, I would recommend watching the brake repair video immediately below first, to gain an unbiased experience that is a great first for anyone new to the practice of ASMR.
Trust me---if you are an auto enthusiast---or just care more about your ride than that guy next door---you will get what ASMR is all about…and perhaps even learn enough to try doing your own brake job.
