Most Unsafe Cars, SUVs, and Trucks with The Worst Crash Test Scores

Which vehicles are the worst when it comes to safety? Here’s the latest on the topic that reveals the 24 models you should consider avoiding.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)

So, who has the responsibility of overseeing vehicle safety? In case you did not know, it is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization called the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (or IIH for short) that is dedicated to “…reducing deaths, injuries and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research and evaluation and through education of consumers, policymakers and safety professionals,” according to the IIHS website.

At its state-of-the-art Vehicle Research Center (VRC) located in central Virginia, the members of the IIHS perform a wide range crash tests that are responsible for the widely consulted vehicle ratings, of which smart and informed car shoppers pay attention to when it comes to buying a new vehicle.

Who is Passing the Word to Consumers?

The latest in new vehicle news when it comes to safety is typically distributed by trusted automotive sites such as Consumer Reports and Torque News. However, other sites also aid in spreading the word to potential car shoppers such as a recent Car Help Corner YouTube channel website that recently addressed the latest safety findings with their list of “…the most dangerous cars you can buy in the event of a car accident.”

That said, here is their recent short video reporting on cars, SUVs and trucks with the worst crash test scores that you will want to pay attention to if you are considering buying a new 2023 model sometime this year. Bear in mind, if some of the vehicles are difficult to believe, it may be due in part to the increased stringency of crash tests for the 2023 models.

If you do not have time to watch the video, a summary list of the models is provided below in the “And finally…” section of this article.
