Cybertruck - Coming To China?

According to Ray (ray4Tesla) on X, the Cybertruck is rumored to arrive in China as a store display. Could this mean that the Cybertruck is coming to China?

If this is true, it would be quite the attraction, as the Cybertruck is a unique vehicle. Of course, it may have to be tailored to fit the Chinese market - made smaller - and reduced in cost, but there appears to be great interest for it.

Ray had this to say about the Cybertruck coming to China:

Cybertruck is rumored to arrive in China as store display. If true, it would attract a lot of people to see it in person. I’m in a Chinese Cybertruck chat group of almost 500 members & all have Cybertruck preorders. I’m sure many would be stoked to see the real thing.

I think it’s highly likely to be showcased in China just like Tesla did with Optimus. Cybertruck is known within NEV community there. It would go viral on Chinese social media.

He has also said that he rarely hears anyone from China say that the Cybertruck is ugly.

When Will the Cybertruck Come to China?

If interest is high enough, Tesla will bring the Cybertruck to the Chinese market, no questions asked. However, in order to do so, Tesla will have to reduce the cost and size, most likely and make it slightly more expensive and larger than the Model Y.

If Tesla can do this, then they will need to find a place - either in Giga Shanghai - or elsewhere in China to build it.

This car would probably experience the same viral effect it has here in the U.S. There have been dozens of celebrities showing off with the Cybertruck in the U.S. and China would likely experience the same effect.

The question would be what form would the Cybertruck take in China, and what would be the cost? I think Tesla would sell the single and dual-motor variants there for cost purposes, as the EV market in China is very competitive on price.

Tesla is in heavy competition with BYD in China, with both vying for the title of EV king.
