Elon Musk has done some amazing things in his life, and some things that are also quite unusual. For instance, he launched a Tesla Roadster into space.
Now, he is talking about sending Cybertrucks and Optimus humanoid robots to Mars. The timeline for this seems like it could be within two years, according to Elon Musk, who says that assuming in the next two years his Starship doesn't crash on Mars, manned missions will start in four years.
The Role Of The Cybertruck On Mars
The Cybertruck will play an important role on Mars for transportation. First off, it is battery powered, meaning that as long as Elon also transports Tesla PowerWalls and Megapacks, along with solar arrays to store energy in those, energy will be abundant on Mars.
The Cybertruck has a large battery inside itself as well, at about 10 PowerWalls worth of kWh. It will also be able to be used as a portable power generator for anything that is on Mars.
Which brings me to the next important point.
The Optimus Humanoid Robot On Mars
The Optimus humanoid robot will be the first likely candidate to go to Mars and start doing work there. Because it will be dangerous to have humans go to Mars, the Optimus humanoid robot can go to Mars and start doing tasks there, such as setting up battery storage, solar arrays, and setting up shelter.
Eventually, things will be setup for humans to go to Mars and assuming that the Optimus robot gets smart enough to do the work on Mars, there will be shelter and infrastructure there for them to use, along with Cybertrucks to drive around.
The battery and energy storage will allow the Optimus humanoid robots to recharge and have a long life. Tesla's batteries are getting very good, now rated to last well over 500,000 miles or more.
The Optimus robots will be able to conduct maintenance and repairs, as well as go mining for minerals and resources on Mars to be used for batteries made on Mars. I can see Tesla building a Lithium mining facility on Mars, manned completely by Optimus humanoid robots.
There's a lot more the Optimus humanoid robots will do on Mars, but the important thing is that they are robots and can take the dangerous journey to Mars without the risk of human life.
No gas car can go to Mars and do what the Cybertruck is going to do. Having battery and renewable energy on Mars will likely mean that from the get-go, Mars will have a 100% sustainable energy future.
Will the Cybertruck Be Modified For Mars?
It's possible that Tesla may make a different version of the Cybertruck for Mars. I could see Tesla making a Cybertruck with a much bigger battery for Mars, so that the energy storage for using it as a portable power generator, or as a vehicle to explore the surroundings last that much longer.
There could also be a variant that is a bit bigger than the current Cybertruck. I would also expect Tesla to send a robot van - or something that can be sent as a portable shelter that humans could live in right away on Mars. The robovan makes a lot of sense for that.
Elon Musk Will Bring The First Colonies To Mars With Tesla
Elon Musk will bring the first colonies to Mars, and they will consist of Cybertrucks and humanoid robots.
Tesla is going to Mars!
Think of how crazy that sounds, but Elon Musk has shown he can do things that are crazy and thought to be impossible. He started a car company that has never gone bankrupt in the U.S. that sells EVs. He is going to take Tesla to Mars and continue to grow the company there.
What do you think about Elon Musk sending Cybertrucks and Optimus robots to Mars?
