Tesla offering a one-month free trial of FSD to new customers
Tesla is offering a one-month free trial of its FSD software to new Tesla customers taking delivery. This is in addition to a recent email Elon Musk sent to Tesla employees that shocked everyone. This email stated that all new deliveries must take the customer on a test drive to show off FSD.

8 days ago, I wrote about how Tesla will probably be doing a one-month FSD free trial soon, and here it is.
This one-month free trial of FSD comes at a time when FSD is now smooth and requiring very little take-overs. It's not yet autonomous, but most of the time, it's doing the right thing.

This will increase the FSD take rate
This one-month free trial is going to increase the FSD take rate. For reference, the take rate is how many customers are outright buying FSD or doing a monthly subscription. It seems to be at about 10% right now. We'll know the real number when Tesla reports on its first quarter earnings next month.

The free trial of FSD is also going to give Tesla a lot more data for its neural net - especially if those using it submit data back to Tesla whenever it makes a mistake. These are the critical pieces of data for Tesla to do the "march of 9's" and to handle edge cases and situations it is not yet doing perfectly.
Most of the time, the car does do the right thing. It's the rare cases where it doesn't that still need to be resolved before a car can be leaned out as an Uber-like drive and ride-sharing happens.
Once these edge cases get solved around the U.S. and North America, it's not going to be too much longer that the first driverless Tesla rides start happening.
Everything sure seems to be happening fast, and we'll keep an eye out on this exciting development!
Update - this is now available to all cars that can run FSD for just this week!
All US cars that are capable of FSD will be enabled for a one month trial this week
