There is a video of a Tesla stopping without an apparent reason. Shortly after, a car came zooming buy in front of the Tesla and the Tesla saved the life of the occupants.

Tesla Stops Suddenly - And For Good Reason

Here is a video of a Tesla Model Y that seemed to stop for no reason and even though the owner was pressing the accelerator, the car just wouldn't move. Seconds later, a car came speeding from the left in front of it. The Tesla saved the life of the occupants.

The Tesla was going through a green light after it just turned green after being red. My guess is that the car rushing through the intersection in front of the Tesla was running a red light just after turning red from a yellow light. There is a reason intersections have some delay for lights that go from yellow to red before the other part of the intersection's lights go green. It is to avoid situations like this.

Thankfully, the Tesla has active safety features that stopped it and prevented what would have been a devastating collision on the driver's side door. Tesla vehicles are very strong and durable, but this would have been a bad accident had the Tesla been hit.

When Tesla first released FSD, I saw many bugs and issues with it and people had to constantly take over. Now, when people take over, it's sometimes the wrong decision as the Tesla vehicle is deciding to do the right thing at the moment.

Tesla Safety Features

Tesla vehicles are built with a variety of active safety features, and automatic emergency braking is one of those features. You can turn this feature on or off for your Tesla. This will make your Tesla vehicle stop if it senses a collision is possible from the side or in front or back.

People are reporting that Tesla FSD is avoiding multiple crashes as they use the software. In fact, there was a video recently showing a Tesla swerving and narrowly escaping a crash due to the software being very fast and reactive to the situation. Here is that video.

When you combine Tesla FSD with all the active safety features, a Tesla is far and away the safest vehicle you can drive. Your safety score will tell you how much you are driving unsafe, and you can correct your behavior when this happens. For example, I get aggressive turning a lot, so I know to be more slow and gentle when turning my steering wheel.

I'm looking forward to the continued progress of Tesla FSD, especially when version 12 comes out, and it uses nothing but neural nets.
