Tesla FSD Savings Lives
We see a video from Whole Mars Catalog driving using FSD Beta and two things stand out in this video. The first is how the car avoids a vehicle coming into his lane. The second is how the car stops for a pedestrian that jumps out into the road. The car was safe in both cases and avoided a collision, damage, or harm to another human.
Tesla's software is best in class for vehicles. There are 3 pieces of software that make this so:
* Autopilot
* Enhanced Autopilot
* FSD (Beta)
All of these systems require user attention and being able to take over at any moment. They are not considered autonomous yet.
Autopilot comes for free on any Tesla vehicle and lets you put your Tesla vehicle, whether it is a Model 3 RWD or a Model S Plaid in a cruise control that stays in a lane on a freeway. The car will handle turns, slow down for cars that are in front of you, and in general does a very good job.
Enhanced Autopilot is Tesla's advanced software for Autopilot. This will change lanes for you and start to do some of the things that FSD does - responding to traffic.
FSD (Beta) is Tesla's software that is working to get a Tesla to drive anywhere there is a road. Whether it is on a freeway or a side street, and whether there is a stop sign or stop light, FSD has an end goal of being able to drive a Tesla vehicle anywhere traffic is allowed.

Tesla FSD Way Better Than the Average Human
Recently, we wrote about how the Cybertruck, with its Hardware 4 and FSD, is going to be 1,000 times safer than an average human driver. This will be possible because of Tesla's continued gathering of data and the deep and clear resolution of its cameras, along with improvements in its neural nets.
There are many videos of Tesla's FSD software. It is better in some areas than others. But already, there are many people using it to do drives without having to intervene with the vehicle. Eventually, interventions are going to be few and far between and it will be ready to turn all Tesla vehicles into a Robotaxi.
I would even go as far as to say that there are people alive today who don't know they are alive because FSD beta saw them and reacted in time before an accident could occur.
When I am driving with Tesla Autopilot on the freeway, I am more comfortable now than when I am driving. I can accidently drift into the next lane or lose focus. Tesla's Autopilot consistently stays in the same lane and away from other cars.
What do you think of Tesla FSD - is it already saving lives today?
