As confirmed by American Honda Motor Company: The initial 2016 Civic Coupe production run will trickle into Honda dealerships this week. As to how many will be available and in what trim level depends on your favorite dealer’s initial coupe order.
A (possible)release date was first shared with us by Hondapro Jason (hey, we don’t know where he gets his news) select Honda Dealers in North America should begin receiving a limited number of the most refined and largest coupe in Honda history. I had my time behind the wheel in San Diego, California and walked away with a greater appreciation of what a European inspired compact coupe could and should be.
As with the “North American Car of the Year” 2016 Civic Sedan, the 10th generation Civic Coupe features a ground-up redesign, exceptional body styling, a much improved drive and ride experience, greater horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency. I was most impressed by the standard value discovered in the base model Civic Coupe LX.
This Civic portal coupe features a 2.0 Liter normally aspirated, direct fuel injected i-VTEC 4-cylinder gasoline engine, close-throw 6-speed manual transmission, light depression pressure clutch, power windows, climate control, economy mode, standard backup camera, and very comfortable seats -- all inclusive with a MSRP of $19,050.
6 trim levels to chose from, Turbo, CVT options
For those that demand a bit more go-power from their daily commuter, 2016 Civic Coupe is available in 6 trim levels with 2 engine and 2 transmission combinations -- 159 to 174 horsepower, 6 speed manual or CVT. Priced from MSRP $19 050 LX to $26,125 Touring. You may read my initial Civic Coupe drive impression here.
