That day will see Volvo introduce the successor the V70, the 2017 V90. The wagon will be the sister model to the recently launched S90 sedan and use Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). Details are somewhat scarce, but we would expect much of the S90's design to appear on the V90. Also, expect the same range of Drive-E engines from the 250 horsepower T5 all the way to 410 horsepower T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid that will be offered on the S90.
“We have provenance in the estate segment,” said Håkan Samuelsson, chief executive at Volvo Cars. “In many people’s minds we are known as the definitive estate brand. While the Volvo brand stands for much more than just estates, we will proudly carry forward this rich heritage with the V90.”
Volvo has said that the V90 would be sold in the U.S. Hopefully we learn when that will be on February 18th?
