The truck is being praised for its power, handling and more luxurious interior. The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has already won MotorTrend Truck of the Year and is up for North American Truck of the Year. This latest award should appeal to off-roaders everywhere. A publication called GearJunkie.com has selected the Chevrolet Colorado as its Adventure Truck of the Year. The write up includes quotes like “This year, one new truck stood above all others when it comes to adventure, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.”

“I’m a big fan of this truck and think it’s quite the value at around $50,000. While not inexpensive, this truck is playful on and off road. It also provides all the creature comforts you’d expect in 2023. It’s also just a good all-around size to use on the trail and around town,” GearJunkie motors editor, Bryon Dorr, said.

How GearJunkie Tested the 2023 Colorado ZR2

According to the GearJunkie Review, they drove the truck from Vegas to Reno off-road. Writers said the truck truly impressed them over this grueling terrain in most every way. They did have a couple of problems with tire sidewalls separating during the brutal test. They drove over 700 miles, mostly on the off-road Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno racecourse. They also drove on the highway to get to gas stations, restaurants and hotels.

Colorado Performed Well On and Off-Road

The reviewer said the adventure allowed them to evaluate the truck near its limits in a variety of off-road scenarios. The result is a fairly glowing review as they crown the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado as the 2023 Adventure Truck of the Year. You can read the full review at GearJunkie.com.

In short: The 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is a midsize performance truck that eats rough off-road miles nearly as quickly as it crushes highway miles.
