Finally a 2017 Ford GT you can afford to own

Ford is now selling diecast reproductions of the incredible 2017 Ford GT supercar. Available in blue or silver, it may be the only Ford GT you can ever afford.

Only a few hundred people will be able to buy the 2017 Ford GT Supercar. The company is only producing about 250 of the $450,000 cars a year.

Now, there is word that Ford is producing 1:18 diecast versions of the 2017 Ford GT, a fraction of the car, at a fraction of the price.

The model features a metal body with plastic parts. It includes opening door, hood and trunk, fully functional steering, four wheel suspension, and detailed chassis with separated exhausted system. It is being sold in bold the vibrant blue and the racing silver. The cost is $29.95.

The estimated shipping date for the models is November 30, 2016. The Ford Merchandise site is not promising that the models will be delivered in time for the holidays.

The Ford GT is the most exciting thing to happen to Ford Motor since they last sold the GT back in 2005 and 2006. Ford required all potential buyers to fill out an extensive (like 19 page) application. Buyers have to agree to use the car for charity appearances and promise not to resell the vehicle for a specific period of time. Many of the cars are being awarded to people who bought the first Ford GTs.

The 2017 Ford GT will be a special trophy. The body is mostly lightweight carbon fiber, and it will be powered by a turbocharged V6 engine producing over 600 horsepower. The 2017 Ford GT is being built in Canada by Multimatic, a firm known for building race cars.

No word on where the diecast versions of the 2017 Ford GT are being built. But if you know a Ford fanatic, the blue or silver model of the 2017 Ford GT may just fill the bill.
