In the rush to meet the off-roading demand, Ford is reportedly adding a rugged new package called the Tremor to its 2025 Ford Expedition and the 2025 Ford Explorer. Off-road capability is huge right now in both the truck and SUV markets. Customers seem to be anxious to spend on any vehicle that is trail capable.
The news was first reported by Automotive News and has been picked up by several other outlets. While showing high level dealerships previews of upcoming models, Ford told the dealers that it plans to add a 2025 Ford Explorer Tremor and a 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor. Ford already has a Tremor package for its flagship F-150. There is also a 2025 Ford Maverick Tremor, Ranger Tremor and Super Duty Tremor.
The new Ranger Tremor has already been unveiled in Australia.
While it is difficult to know how much performance the Tremor package will add to the Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition, we can see from the Tremor description for the Maverick that the package increases trail capability and handling.
Ford Maverick Tremor Description
“Unique 17-inch aluminum wheels feature a new Tremor Orange and dark gray anodized finish, while standard all-terrain tires make for improved traction on loose surfaces like sand, gravel and dirt. A new lower front fascia with a more aggressive approach angle and steel skid plates results in improved capability.
Unique front and rear springs and shocks aid in improved off-road capability. These new shocks, together with a 1-inch increase in ride height, also contribute to a more assertive stance for the new Maverick Tremor. Off-road capability is further bolstered by a heavy-duty transmission cooler and upgraded half-shafts.”
Those are just some of the improvements offered for the Maverick Tremor.
It is unclear when we will see the Tremor package offered on the 2025 Ford Explorers and Expeditions, but it should be fairly soon.
