How You Can Own the First Production 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Supercar

Chevrolet has a history of auctioning off its first editions to raise money for charity. This halo car should raise millions.

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is one of the most talked about vehicles of the last five years. As I have reported previously, the ZR1 hit an astonishing speed record during testing in Germany with GM President Mark Reuss at the wheel. Just recently, engineers confirmed a stunning 0-60 time confirming the ZR1 as the fastest American-made vehicle. Now, Chevrolet is donating the very first production Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, next month. Every dime or 100% of the hammer price will go to benefit the American Red Cross.

What Makes the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 So Special

The ZR1 is considered America’s first true supercar. It is powered by the LT7, a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine that produces 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. The engine produces the most power ever from a factory Corvette.

How the Auction Works

The winning bidder will receive the first retail production 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which will have the VIN of 001. Because the vehicle has not yet been produced. It will be configured to the buyer’s preference. The ZR1's LT7 engine starts with the same architecture as the Z06's LT6, the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 engine ever, and takes it to the next level with twin turbochargers - the first time ever for a factory Corvette. The car’s aerodynamics provide the most downforce ever from a Corvette with over 1,200 pounds at top speed of 233 mph. The Corvette ZR1's optional ZTK performance package unlocks a true track weapon with a sport suspension and ultra sport tires.

GM President Set the Top Speed

As I reported previously, Recent testing in Germany proves that the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is now the fastest car ever built by an American auto manufacturer. General Motors President Mark Reuss drove a 2025 Corvette ZR1 233 mph, setting a top speed record beating any current production car priced under $1 million. The ZR1 is the fastest car GM has ever produced.

“Setting the top-speed record in the Corvette ZR1 is a true triumph for Corvette and for Chevrolet, and also an exhilarating, surreal experience for me personally,” said Reuss. “With the current generation’s switch to mid-engine, we knew the outstanding performance and balance made this a real possibility. To go over there and get it done is a testament to the power of ZR1, and to the incredibly talented team that developed and built it.”

Repeated Testing Confirmed Astonishing Speed

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, which is faster than you can read that sentence. That mind-blowing time makes the 2025 Corvette ZR1 the quickest Corvette ever. Now, Chevrolet confirms that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 equipped with the ZTK Performance Package can reach new records, running the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds.

“The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations,” said Josh Holder, chief engineer, Corvette. “Combined with a top speed record of 233 mph – which is unrivaled by any current production car priced under $1 million – the Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power.”

2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is Instantly Collectible

For the ZR1, function and form quickly took hold to create an instant icon complete with the return of the historic Split-Window. The teams worked to elevate the striking design first revealed with the eighth-generation Corvette Stingray. Next came the powerful Z06. The ZR1’s elevated design is enhanced by providing customization options that tie in the exterior and interior colors.

Auction to Benefit the American Red Cross

Every time that GM donates a car to auction, it chooses a different worthy charity. The ZR1 will be auctioned to help the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters. The Red Cross also supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood. Volunteers and staff members teach skills that save lives. The Red Cross provides international humanitarian aid and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.

When Will the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Be Auctioned

The 2025 Barrett-Jackson Auction will run from January 18-26, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Barrett-Jackson estimates that the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will cross the block at approximately 5:30 P.M. MST on January 25, 2025.
