Every year, Jeep brings out a couple of limited-edition colors. This year's pink was a huge hit when it was first introduced in 2021.
Long before the Barbie movie set box office records and made the color pink the new black, Jeep created a shocking magenta tone called Tuscadero. It was an immediate hit! Jeep sold more than 30,000 Wranglers in the vibrant color and it is hoping it will be another success story for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler.
“Some 30,000 customers placed an order for Tuscadero when it first debuted in 2021,” said Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand – North America. “We’re always looking to deliver what our customers tell us they want, so we’re ‘tickled pink’ to bring back the highly sought-after Tuscadero paint shade on Jeep Wrangler.”
Tuscadero Pink
Jeep isn’t saying where it came up with the intense chromatic color but when it debuted in 2021 Jeep called it a “nod to nostalgia and to honor those with a passionate spirit”. I doubt most people working at Jeep are even old enough to remember Fonzie’s onetime girlfriend on Happy Days named Pinky Tuscadero. The workers may have seen it in reruns. Or Tuscadero could be named for something else entirely but it sure is a great shade.
Tuscadero is the newest limited-edition exterior color. Every year, Jeep brings out two or three eye-catching colors like Gecko green or Nacho orange. Jeep says Tuscadero is an all-star shade among the brand’s lineup of vivid, special-run, limited-edition colors that add customization and appeal straight from the factory. The Wrangler is also available in Anvil grey as a limited-run color for 2024. For now, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler is available in nine colors, Tuscadero, Anvil (new for 2024), Earl, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zynith, Hydro Blue, Bright White and black.
Why Order the Special Color Straight From the Factory
What is particularly nice about the newest color is that it can be ordered straight from the factory, so it is covered by the factory warranty and dealers will have access to the grade and quality of paint if you ever need a touch-up. Touch-ups can be frustrating for owners that have specialty after-market paint applied. Initially, The 2024 Jeep Wrangler in Tuscadero will be paired with a black hardtop, body-color hardtop or black soft-top. The Sky One-Touch powertop in Tuscadero will be available closer to summer.
The special Tuscadero paint color can be ordered now on the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler at a U.S. MSRP of $895.
2024 Jeep Wrangler
As I reported previously, the Jeep Wrangler really upped its game for 2024 because of the new competition in the off-roading market. New for the 2024 model year, the Jeep Wrangler offers an available full-float Dana rear axle, factory-installed 8,000-pound-capacity Warn winch and increased 5,000-pound tow capability. Inside, the 2024 Wrangler features available 12-way power adjustable front seats, standard 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen radio and standard side curtain airbags in the first and second rows.
Powertrain options include a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and a 6.4-liter V-8. The Wrangler’s plug-in hybrid 4xe is the top-selling PHEV in North America. The 4xe uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine, two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack to deliver 21 miles of all-electric range and 49 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe).
New for 2024, Wranglers will come with dozens of trail guides loaded into the infotainment system. Trails Offroad delivers comprehensive off-road trail guides for the 62 Jeep Badge of Honor trails. It will be pre-loaded right into the Uconnect 5 system. Buyers can also upgrade with a subscription that unlocks 3,000-plus Trails Offroad trail guides.
Wrangler Expands Feature Called Off Road+
The new 2024 Jeep Wrangler expands availability of Off Road+ from Rubicon gas models to Rubicon 4xe, Willys 4xe and Willys gas models. Optimizing vehicle parameters for off roading, including throttle, transmission shift points and traction control, Off Road+ delivers peak performance on any trail. When used in 4HI, Off Road+ optimizes settings for higher-speed conditions, such as sand and mud, and also allows the Tru-Lok rear electronic locking differential to be locked for improved performance. In 4LO, Off Road+ optimizes settings for low-speed conditions such as rock crawling.
