Mopar is Prepping a Ram Truck Concept and a Muscle Car for 2024 SEMA Show

Mopar is teasing two very different concepts for the show that starts November 5th in Las Vegas.

The annual SEMA Show is scheduled for November 5-8, in Las Vegas, and MOPAR is giving us sneak peeks of what it is planning. The Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show draws close to 200,000 visitors every year to see the latest accessories and upgrades that are available for nearly every vehicle on the market. While Mopar is releasing few details, pictures suggest that Mopar has big plans for the 2025 Ram 2500 and a classic muscle car.

The first picture that Mopar released shows a large truck, it appears to be a 2025 Ram 2500. The title is Workhorse and Warrior. It shows a sand-colored full-size truck with orange tow hooks and what appears to be a special hood with large air intake panels and two-tone paint. The caption reads “Obstacles on the job site or the trail are no match for this beastly full-size concept. The description suggests over-sized tires and a special lift-kit, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the details. Mopar has mastered the art of designing upgrade packages that can be order straight from the factory. I would imagine that this concept will evolve into that type of package.

The second sneak peek shows what appears to be a classic muscle car and asks the question: “What kind of future is there for a legendary muscle car? A concept from Mopar may show the answer.”

The teaser does not suggest what type of answer Mopar is proposing to preserve muscle cars. There are two distinct ways this question could be answered. Either Mopar has some sort of electric conversion kit to switch old muscle cars to electric vehicles or Mopar will be selling crate engines to convert older HEMI engines to the more fuel-efficient Hurricane Inline-6 engine. The Hurricane engine comes in two versions, the SST model and a more powerful RHO version. I have written extensively about the upcoming 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV, that will be available first as an EV, but gas-powered versions will follow later. Mopar may be considering offering similar EV or Hurricane options for classic muscle cars.

No word yet on what Jeep may be planning for SEMA. Typically, the aftermarket accessory show is huge for Jeep.

SEMA 2024

The SEMA Show is the largest trade show in the country. It takes up more than 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center and another 1 million square feet of exhibits outside the convention hall. More than 2,000 different companies from 140 countries show the latest in accessories for cars, trucks and SUVs. The products include everything from windshield wipers, to lift kits, to specialty paint and engine upgrades. The show is considered a must-see event for automakers and their suppliers as they check out the latest improvements for vehicles.

SEMA says more than 1500 vehicles of all types are typically displayed. There are also educational seminars that focus on business strategies like online marketing, customer service, product training and new vehicle technology. It also helps accessory manufacturers stay up to date on market trends and what their competitors are doing. The aftermarket accessory industry generates nearly $50 billion dollars in sales every year. Everywhere you look, vehicle owners are doing something to personalize or customize their cars and trucks. It is a trend that is growing every year especially as drivers are holding on to their vehicles longer.
