Ram’s parent company is expected to announce its plans to save money in the volatile automotive market on Thursday but today Ram is celebrating huge horsepower. The 2027 Ram Rumble Bee SRT, shown in yellow and black, features the most powerful V-8 engine ever offered in a production pickup truck. It will have an astonishing 777 horsepower from a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI and a top speed of 170 mph. The SRT’s horsepower equals the 2027 Ram TRX. There are two other HEMI-powered Rumble Bee street trucks, the Rumble Bee and the Rumble Bee 392. All of the Rumble Bees are 13” shorter than the standard Ram 1500 and are Quad Cabs with a short bed.  Ram says the new Rumble Bee lineup appeals to customers who love American muscle, may already have a muscle car and want a pickup that fits their lifestyle.

“There was a time when pickup trucks were considered work vehicles," said Kuniskis. "Today, Ram has a truck for every customer — from the work-ready Tradesman to full-blown luxury in Tungsten. That kind of range makes it hard to predict the second vehicle for a customer. But, for muscle car owners, data proves it’s a pickup and the connection has been staring us in the face since the era reignited almost two decades ago.

"Somehow, the idea of muscle trucks was labeled unnecessary, but since that describes so many products that captivated enthusiasts' hearts, minds and wallets, Ram is going all-in, pushing for the last 10th with a full-range of Rumble Bee muscle trucks.”

The timing for a high-horsepower truck may be off because of the current gas prices, but people who like speed and performance often buy what they want regardless of gas prices.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee lineup was announced in “Muscle Runs Deep,” a short film hosted by Tim Kuniskis, head of American brands, SRT Performance and North America marketing at Stellantis.

2027 Ram Rumble Bee SRT

Ram learned a lot from its new Ram NASCAR truck racing team.  The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT has a targeted top speed of 170 mph, quarter-mile time in 11.6 seconds and does 0-60 mph time in 3.4 seconds. The Rumble Bee SRT has massive 325/40R22 all-season tires on 22-by-12-inch wheels. This is the widest tire and wheel combination the company has ever offered on a production vehicle since the legendary Dodge Viper. Ram’s stocky street trucks are widebodies at 88 inches wide and 219.5 inches long. It is the most powerful, quickest and fastest V-8-powered production pickup ever.

Rumble Bee SRT is designed to handle racetrack duty in 100-degree heat. Leveraging the unique performance fascia for increased airflow, SRT engineers designed an all-new cooling system to manage engine coolant and oil temperatures. The fascia design also sends more air to the front brakes to assist with cooling and Rumble Bee’s braking performance.

2027 Ram Rumble Bee 392

The Rumble Bee 392, shown in red, is the first time the brand has offered the 392-cu.-in. (6.4-liter) HEMI V-8 in the Ram 1500 platform. The Rumble Bee 392 has 470 horsepower. There is also a Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack with performance upgrades. Code named Apache after the renowned attack helicopter, the larger and more powerful HEMI V-8 delivers 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 455 lb.-ft. torque at 4,200 rpm. The same cam-in-block, push-rod, aluminum-head design includes variable valve timing, but with 2.14-inch intake valves and 1.65-inch exhaust valves for more breathing room.

2027 Ram Rumble Bee

The Rumble Bee with 395 horsepower will be the first available Ram street truck. The Rumble Bee launches with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, with availability starting late 2026. The two more powerful trucks will follow in 2027. The Rumble Bee has up to 8,890 pounds of towing capacity and up to 1,160 pounds of payload capacity, significant for the short bed truck. The 345-cu.-in. (5.7-liter) HEMI V-8, produces 395 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 410 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,950 rpm. Code named Eagle, the engine uses the legendary muscle car formula of cam-in-block push rod design, but with modern hardware.

Ram’s New Street Truck Dynamics

All of the Rumble Bee models have the same essential driver controls. The trucks all have a flat-bottom performance steering wheel, console shifter and paddle shifters.

Every Rumble Bee has full-time active four-wheel drive. However, for the people who want rear-wheel-drive, designers and engineers also integrated a RWD button next to the console shifter that disconnects the front axle for true rear-wheel-drive-only operation.

2027 Rumble Bee Posts Impressive Numbers

  • The Rumble Bee does 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. It does the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds.
  • The Rumble Bee 392 does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. It handles the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds.
  • The Rumble Bee SRT does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. It does the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds.

The Rumble Bee and Rumble Bee 392 both have steel suspensions. The Rumble Bee has a 6.8-inch wider track width for increased stability and a stocky stance. In the rear, the axle is 7 inches wider than standard, also contributing to improved handling. To reduce body roll, the front and rear axles use robust stabilizer bars that limit sway, maintaining traction during high-G driving. This combination firms up the driving dynamics on the first two variants of Rumble Bee for muscle-truck handling.

For the Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack and Rumble Bee SRT, the air suspension option is standard for its performance benefits. Although the damping is firmer and adjustable on the two top performers, the air suspension allows additional compliance during normal driving conditions while maintaining SRT’s control.

Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack and Rumble Bee SRT add a dedicated track driving mode and power-limiting valet mode for a total of seven driver selectable options: auto, sport, track, snow, tow, custom and valet. The air suspension can lower the truck 1.5 inches for improved handling in track mode. In line with the four pillars of SRT, track mode also relaxes stability control.

Launch Control Mode

The Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack and Rumble Bee SRT also feature a dedicated launch control button for competition-level starts. Line up the truck on level ground, drop it into drive and switch to Sport or Track. Next, hit the physical launch button to the right of the steering wheel (or tap it in the performance pages), mash the brake and bury the throttle. When Rumble Bee gives you the green light, release the brake and the truck takes off.

Despite its size, the rear spoiler remains fully compatible for real‑world truck duty. Designed to withstand tailgate operation and expected impacts, the spoiler spans the width of the tailgate. It is constructed from a durable thermoplastic, which is durable and has long‑term UV resistance.

The Bee is Important

The Rumble Bee logo makes three appearances in the muscle truck lineup, changing in color, wing design and attitude with increasing performance. The first Rumble Bee features the head of an angry bee in Satin Black and Dark Neutral Metallic with the body of a HEMI V-8 engine and a stinger leading its charge. Rumble Bee 392 and Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack feature the same bee, but with the stinger in Satin Black and the body in Prowler Yellow. The most threatening bee marks the SRT version, covered in Satin Black and Spitfire Orange stripes with swept-back wings and more prominent stinger.

Premium Infotainment Available

Rumble Bee’s advanced cockpit starts with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with exclusive detailing like a lit Rumble Bee badge, reconfigurable gauges and unique colors and graphics. These same unique graphics extend to the Uconnect screen, which varies in size depending on Rumble Bee performance level. Drive modes and Performance Pages can be displayed on the central Uconnect touchscreen for quick reference.

Rumble Bee offers three different Uconnect screen options: a horizontal 8.4-inch screen or premium 12- and 14.5-inch portrait-style screens on the 392 and SRT, respectively. The portrait-style Uconnect 5 touchscreens feature reconfigurable capability and tailor-made graphics for the Rumble Bee.

Personalization is easy with split screen functionality. The driver can also select one application, such as navigation, across the entire touchscreen. Customers who prefer not to use the touchscreen for HVAC will find redundant controls located on both sides of the display for convenience.

Rumble Bee drivers can personalize their touchscreen controls with the drag-and-drop menu bar, which gives one-button access to the features and services they value most. Drivers can simply drag their favorite feature or service icon from the apps menu and move them to their Uconnect system’s main menu bar, like the available surround 360-degree camera system.

For those who like to record data, Performance Pages are available on Rumble Bee. The software provides access to real-time vehicle information, including timers (such as 0-60 mph elapsed time), g-force, gauges and engine performance. This data can be downloaded to a USB thumb drive, allowing for easy sharing of driving data.

Rumble Bee offers two different premium audio systems to immerse passengers in sound, including Alpine on the 392 and a Harman Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer on the SRT. This is the first time Ram has squeezed 19 speakers into the Quad Cab body.

When We Will See the Rumble Bee

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is built in Saltillo, Mexico, and launches with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, with availability starting late 2026. The 2027 Rumble Bee 392 and Rumble Bee SRT will arrive in the first half of 2027. No word yet on pricing or fuel economy.
