We say “suggest” because the wording in the Motor Authority piece is unclear – it’s hard to tell if the car will offer both an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and a six-speed manual, or just the eight-speed.
New Details
The article suggests that the Veloster N will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes around 270 horsepower. Other new details include new front intakes – we’ve reported before on the dual exhaust with corner outlets, the uprated brakes, and bigger wheels.
The piece says that Hyundai has benchmarked the Volkswagen GTI as a target, because of that car’s blend of performance and utility. That’s good news for Veloster fans, since if Hyundai succeeds they will cook up something good. And since that car has a manual option, maybe the Veloster N will, too.
Make Mine a Manual
The other good news for manual-trans fans is that the current Veloster offers one, so if there’s enough demand from potential buyers, the next-gen car should, too.
We’ll just have to wait and see, but a manual-trans Veloster N could certainly be a blast to drive.
