Toyota sales results are something I look forward to every month, every quarter, and every year. To me, this is a great barometer of what customers not only like, but what they can actually find and purchase.
Especially in the middle of the worldwide vehicle shortage.
I have been reviewing Toyota sales from both September and for the first three quarters of 2022. No surprise – the country’s top-selling SUV is still planted right at the very top.
Toyota RAV4.
September 2022 Sales
A very optimistic sign to me, at least for this month, is that many popular Toyota models saw significant sales increases for September compared to September of 2021. Toyota RAV4, Camry, Corolla, Tacoma, and Tundra all stood out to me as big risers.
The 2022 RAV4 sold more than any other Toyota model in September, with 32,317 vehicles finding new homes. As I pointed out yesterday, this is in large part to the tremendous popularity of Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
Top Five September Sales
Including RAV4, here are the Top five best sellers:
- RAV4: 32,317
- Camry: 27,859
- Tacoma: 21,470
- Highlander: 19,743
- Corolla: 18,874
Are there any models that you think should have sold more than what they actually did?
Time for Your Toyota RAV4 Comments
It would be interesting to see how most of these models would sell if, and I say a big IF, we were not in the thick of the vehicle shortage.
I feel models like Sienna and 4Runner and Venza and RAV4 Prime and Tundra would show much gaudier numbers. There is tremendous popularity with the buying public here. Just think of the long wait lists at most dealerships all over the country.
Every one of these sells as fast, or faster, than they can be built.
What is your favorite Toyota vehicle? Are you in the market for a new car, truck, or SUV any time soon? If so, what has your experience been in researching and finding one?
