Breaking News: 2021 Toyota Tacoma Pricing and New Trims Announced

See what is new with the 2021 Toyota Tacoma. You may really like these additions.

You have been the top selling midsize truck in your market segment for the last 15 straight years. People enjoy driving you, and they know they can count on you. You have it made.

It would be pretty easy to rest on your laurels and past successes, right? Not so fast with Toyota Tacoma.

Look for the 2021 Tacoma to bring customers new models, new colors to its lineup, and revised pricing.

Tacoma Army Green for everyone

Sometimes with a powerhouse in your lineup, it can be easy to ignore the rest of the trim levels. Yes, TRD Pro gets the lion’s share of publicity when discussing a 2021 Toyota Tacoma or a 2021 Tundra, 4Runner or Sequoia.

With that being said, truck fans who have admired the color Army Green from afar on 2020 TRD Pro can now choose it across the rest of the Tacoma lineup.

You will be able to find a 2021 Tacoma in Army Green on grades like SR5, TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, Limited and Trail Special Edition.

Army Green is not available as a color option for 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro.

Speaking of TRD Pro, Lunar Rock has been chosen to represent the Toyota TRD Pro fleet. You will find this tough and rugged color on 2021 Tundra, 4Runner, Sequoia and Tacoma TRD Pro.

2021 Toyota Tacoma Pricing

2021 Toyota Tacoma Pricing

Pricing has been revealed for 2021 Tacoma grades. Expect slight increases across the board, which should be no surprise in the automotive industry.

For example, 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro automatic has a factory MSRP of $46,665. This will increase to $46,780 for 2021 models. Not bad at all.

Trail Special Edition for 2021 Tacoma

Look for a new 2021 Tacoma Trail Special Edition to offer convenience, style and storage. I imagine this trim will appeal to those who love any outdoor activities with family and friends. Think camping trips and hanging out at the lake.

Tacoma Trail Edition is based on the current SR5 Double Cab configuration and is available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

One thing about truck owners is they are always looking to take advantage of all the storage areas they can find. To me, the unique and defining features of Tacoma Trail Edition are the new storage bins on both sides of the truck bed.

The driver side bin doubles as a cooler that is insulated and is built with a drain plug.

“Hey buddy, let me grab you a cold one from the back.” Clever.

Also plan on 16-inch dark gray TRD Off-Road wheels with Kevlar All-Terrain tires as well as a “Limited-like” front grille. Seating is black with tan stitching.

An added 120-volt power outlet in the truck bed is perfect for plugging in and doing work right off the back tailgate.

Color choices for 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trail Special Edition are Super White, Cement, Midnight Black and Army Green.

2021 Tacoma Nightshade

2021 Tacoma Nightshade Special Edition joins other popular Toyota models like 4Runner, Sienna, Corolla, Corolla Hatchback and Camry in moving to the dark side.

2021 Tundra Nightshade and 2021 Sequoia Nightshade also have blacked out features that portray a darker image.

Owners can expect many similar features as Tacoma Limited, since Nightshade is based on this trim. It will be available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

2021 Tacoma Nightshade is offered in Wind Chill Pearl, Midnight Black Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic.

Nightshade highlights are black leather seats and dark smoke colored 18-inch alloy wheels. Also look for black fog light bezels and a black exhaust tip, as well as black door handles, black mirror caps and a new darkened chrome grille with a new grille insert design.

I will take “Potpourri” for $1000 please Alex

Toyota Tacoma Nightshade, along with all other V6 Tacoma grades, is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 direct injection Atkinson Cycle engine that produces 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. torque. It is matched with a 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.

Another change to look for with 2021 Tacoma is the inclusion of dual automatic temperature controls for all V6 grades. This should prove beneficial for times when your passenger is hotter or colder than you are. Both can be happy. This is one small stepping stone in the quest for world peace.

Although this is not a year for Toyota Tacoma to be redesigned, it is nice to see the addition of a few new trim levels to the lineup.

What updates are interesting to you? Do you think you will look into either Tacoma Trail or Nightshade Edition?
