The new 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter trim level is high-powered and made for the toughest overlanding trips. Literally from the factory.
Yes, you can receive your overland-capable Trailhunter truck customized and ready straight from the factory.
It is offered in a double cab configuration with either a 5-foot or 6-foot bed. Solely as a 4x4. Exclusively with i-FORCE MAX powertrain (2.4-liter turbo with electric motor assist – 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. torque). Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
There are so many Trailhunter features and systems and buttons and controls that it is nearly impossible to list them all. I thought, though, that I could highlight a lot of the really cool features you might not be as familiar with. Some are new to 2024 Tacoma in general and some for Trailhunter specifically.
Tacoma 2024 Tailgate
Evolving and improving from next-gen Tundra is the power tailgate on 2024 Toyota Tacoma. People can now both open and close the aluminum tailgate by power. Hidden buttons on the driver and passenger side taillights can work both functions quickly. This could be ideal when working with your hands full.

A Tacoma Disconnect?
The front stabilizer bar disconnect feature is all-new for Toyota Tacoma 2024. You can increase your articulation by 10% compared to the previous Tacoma with the simple push of a button inside the cabin.
This disconnect function is compatible with Toyota-approved lift kits as well. Double bonus.
Front End Lights for 2024 Tacoma
Just like Tundra and Sequoia, the new Tacoma features a large light bar (20 inches long) that is actually two times brighter than Tundra. I have looked straight into this light bar both during the day and night – I can assure you it is super bright. Yikes.
And RIGID Industries supplies cool new fog lights that can alternate between white and yellow colors.
2024 Tacoma Air Compressor
The bed of 2024 Tacoma is 7% larger in volume than its predecessor. Within the bed is a high-powered air compressor. You can utilize this compressor to fill large tires that had previously been aired down for the beach and trails.
Auxiliary DC switches
Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter contains three auxiliary DC switches pre-wired so you can add whatever accessories you want, need, or desire. These are located inside along the dashboard.
Tacoma Bed Lights
Illumination. This is my favorite word of all time. And it is very appropriate when talking about Trailhunter bed lighting. Integrated LED bed side lights illuminate along your truck so you can see around you at night.
The added bonus here is that this makes the truck look extra cool and tough in darker conditions.
Look for triangulated interior LED bed lights that can cover the entire bed – even dark corners.
2024 Tacoma Trailhunter Suspension
Old Man Emu 4x4 suspension by ARB comes standard on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter. Drivers will benefit from a high load carrying capacity and superior off-road driving control capabilities.
Right from the Toyota Tacoma press release, these are “position sensitive 2.5-inch forged monotube shocks with rear external piggyback style remote reservoirs”.
Tacoma Trailhunter Wheels
Not necessarily secret or hidden, but what a first impression Trailhunter makes. Especially with its stock 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires and 18-inch bronze Trailhunter-specific wheels.
Look for a lift of an additional two inches in front and one and a half inches in back thanks to the shocks and tires.
2024 Trailhunter Power
On the right side of the bed, you will find a 2400W AC inverter. Think of future camping trips and what you could power up. A freezer, refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave, portable fans, and power tools.
