Toyota 4Runner has just surprised us.
In a year where many people suspected we might see a redesign for 2023, not too many planned on any new features for Toyota 4Runner in 2022. However, 4Runner actually does have some cool and important upgrades to discuss you may love.
Today I tested them out on a 2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited.
2022 Toyota 4Runner Changes
To me the most important upgrade is the addition of blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert to many 2022 4Runner models.
People have been asking me about this addition for years.
SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited and TRD Pro have these new-to-4Runner safety features standard.
The new 2022 4Runner TRD Sport has them optional with the Technology Package.
Also, a standard Panoramic View Monitor allows drivers to see behind them, in front of them and along the sides of them. These improvements in multiple viewpoints assist with Toyota 4Runner visibility and ensuing vehicle and passenger safety.
Demo of 4Runner 2022 New Features
I made a new video for my “ToyotaJeff Reviews” YouTube channel highlighting these 2022 4Runner changes. In it I use a new 4Runner Limited to demonstrate key features you might want and need.
I hope you find my video helpful and fun. Please also consider subscribing to my new channel, “AutoJeff Reviews.” This new content covers all auto brands and models. I hope you enjoy.
Other 2022 4Runner Changes
Look for rear seat occupancy reminders on all trims. This gives a visual and audio alert when you shut off your 4Runner if the car thinks there could be things left in the back seat – laptops, bags, pets and children.
Seems like a small feature but it could be essential if you accidentally leave something precious behind.
All Toyota 4Runner trim levels come with standard LED headlights, daytime running lights and fog lights. New for 2022 4Runner are both LED low beams and high beams across the board.
Multi-terrain monitor allows you to see all around your 4Runner both on the road and off. This is standard on 2022 4Runner TRD Pro.
2022 4Runner TRD Pro
And speaking of 4Runner TRD Pro, of course there is a brand-new exclusive color this year.
Lime Rush.
This is a different, although similarly bright and bold and shocking, color than Electric Lime Rush found in 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro.
I recommend that you act sooner than later if you want a Lime Rush 4Runner. They will be challenging to get due to high demand and the ongoing vehicle shortage.
