An interesting system has developed and evolved with the Toyota truck and SUV lineup in recent years.
This involves Toyota TRD Pro models and color choices.
A new exclusive color is chosen for each new Toyota TRD Pro model year. It can only be found on Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, Sequoia and 4Runner TRD Pro grades.
Then, when a new color is chosen for the next year, this previously exclusive color is made available on other trim levels for each model.
This is true as well for the 2021 Toyota Tundra.
2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro
Toyota recently chose its 2021 TRD Pro color – Lunar Rock. Lunar Rock is best described as a greenish-grayish-cementish color. I find it tough and rugged and it has grown on me lately. It should be extremely popular – especially on 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro and 2021 4Runner TRD Pro.
This means Army Green (last year’s TRD Pro color) can be found on other trim levels of your favorite Toyota truck and SUV, including Toyota Tundra.
The 2021 Tundra will now be offered in Army Green across the board. Potential buyers can find this polarizing Army Green on popular 2021 Tundra trims like SR5, Limited and Platinum. Plus, it can be found on TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport packages with SR5 configuration.
You will also find 2021 Toyota Tundra Trail Edition trucks in Army Green as well.
Toyota TRD Pro colors
This system for choosing an exclusive TRD Pro color started for 2015 model year Toyota trucks and SUVs. Inferno Orange was Toyota’s debut color and was launched for 2015 vehicles. In 2016 we saw Quicksand. The model year 2017 brought us Cement color. Cavalry Blue was 2018 TRD Pro color, followed by Voodoo Blue for 2019.
Army Green was 2020 color. Lunar Rock will be seen in all 2021 4Runner TRD Pro, 2021 Tundra TRD Pro, 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro and 2021 Sequoia TRD Pro.
2021 Tundra News and Notes
Toyota Tundra is offered with one powertrain combination for 2021, just like in 2020. Expect the reliable and trusty 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. torque. It is matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Remember to look for new 2021 Tundra Nightshade and Tundra Trail Special Editions this fall.
