Yesterday I wrote a Torque News story announcing my first official update for the incoming 2022 Toyota RAV4 and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
Cavalry Blue will be offered as a paint color option on some trim levels, including RAV4 TRD Off-Road and 2022 RAV4 XSE Hybrid.
Another trim level for 2022 RAV4 Hybrid will carry Cavalry Blue, but I will leave that for Toyota to discuss.
2022 Toyota RAV4 Updates
A gentleman who follows my “ToyotaJeff Reviews” YouTube channel sent me these pictures of a 2022 RAV4 in Cavalry Blue. This is the first time I have seen this new (old) paint color on Toyota RAV4.
I have to say it looks really cool. Especially with the lighter ice edge roof you find in trim levels like Adventure and TRD Off-Road. RAV4 XSE Hybrid gives a sportier look with Cavalry Blue and gloss black accents.
Actually, this specific picture is of a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure Hybrid. This will be offered in other countries. However, I do not believe this is coming to the United States for 2022 model year.
2022 RAV4 Changes
As I mentioned yesterday, I do not feel 2022 Toyota RAV4 and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will be completely redesigned this year. This current generation has only been with us since 2019. Three years is too soon for a new body style.
We may see some exterior and interior styling updates, but they should not be extensive.
Something may be completely new for either RAV4 or RAV4 Hybrid, but it is not my place to share right now. Sorry and I hope you understand.
Busy Year for Toyota
Toyota Tundra is entirely redesigned for 2022. Corolla Cross is new in the United States. The 2022 GR 86 is all-new.

Look for more information soon on battery electric vehicle bZ4X. Plus Toyota Tacoma and Toyota 4Runner have new trims, colors, and features.
In short, this is a busy year for Toyota. Plenty of new models, new trim levels, new safety and technology, new colors, and surprises as well.
Time for Your Toyota RAV4 Comments
What Toyota update or change are you most looking forward to for this year and the near future? Any Toyota model catch your eye lately?
Are you a fan of 2022 RAV4 and 2022 RAV4 Hybrid in Cavalry Blue? Would you consider buying one? If not Cavalry Blue, what colors look best on Toyota RAV4?
Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story when I answer reader questions about the vehicle shortage.

It's pretty lame that when a big corporation like Toyota finally offers a new color... albeit one new color, other than the usual grey white and red, on a popular car, it's like a big deal. Years ago, cars were offered in 20 colors a year, with many news offerings each year. Now, cars cost more than ever, but offer fewer and fewer color choices.

I would love to see the 2022 Rav4 Hybrid have more than just the Limited trim having ventilated seats as an option. Love the look of the XSE - wish they made it in supersonic red like the Prime model. Not a fan of Calvary Blue. Wish there was something lighter than Blueprint but darker than Calvary Blue. Waiting for more on the 2022 options before I buy, but love the Blizzard Pearl White XSE - black roof, black rims, black branding - super sexy!

I might have to buy one just for a welcoming new color. I'm sooooooo over the boring non-color selection of gray, black, white and more gray. I like the ruby wine color of my 2017 Tucson but fed up with the DCT issues and now their red is too red for me. Now that Toyota is not handing out our money to the likes of MTG, I will take a look.
