When Toyota Tundra was manufactured for the 2022 model year, it was completely redesigned from the ground up.
There is plenty to like about next-gen 2022 Tundra, including a new small and often-overlooked feature people had been asking for.
2022 Toyota Tundra Review
Truck fans are greeted with two different powertrain options for 2022 Tundra.
First, you could choose a 3.5-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine that produces 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. torque. Or you could buy the 2022 Tundra i-FORCE MAX (Tundra Hybrid). This generates 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. torque.
Plus, Toyota Tundra is loaded with all-new technology, safety, comfort, and convenience.
I really like the new Toyota Audio Multimedia system. The 2022 Tundra was the first Toyota model to get this audio upgrade, and others (including 2023 Sequoia) have followed suit for 2023 model year.
But there is one small tiny option that most Tundra fans and owners might overlook. It could really help with work in the “bed-room”.
2022 Tundra BedStep
Toyota offers a new power bed step that works off the back of the bed on the driver side. It extends and retracts when the door is opened and closed.
DEMO: From my "ToyotaJeff Reviews" Instagram page. How it works:
You can also push a button by the driver side taillight that also operates this function.
It seems easy and convenient, and it may just aid you a little bit while working from the bed of your Tundra.
How to Get 2022 Tundra BedStep
For people interested in a new 2022 Toyota Tundra power BedStep, you have a few options to get one.
The BedStep is offered with power running boards as an available package deal on some trims, while standard equipment on another.
These features are standard on Tundra Capstone. They are offered as an optional upgrade for 2022 Tundra Platinum and Tundra 1794 Edition.
Also, new owners can contact their favorite Toyota dealerships and may be able to add one as an after-purchase accessory.
