Toyota RAV4 is the top selling SUV in the country right now and for good reason. One of the most reliable and trustworthy vehicles on the market, it is easy to see why RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime (plug-in hybrid) are so popular with buyers.
Especially Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which is the top Toyota hybrid in the lineup by a wide margin.
However, it would be foolish for this proud SUV with such a rich history to just sit back and wait for the competition to pass it by.
Thus, the next generation is coming.
Fans Comment on Toyota RAV4
I am a moderator for the Facebook online forum “Toyota RAV4 Club” and it is a very helpful place if you like the RAV4 family. Here you will find over 101,000 Toyota RAV4 fans, owners, and enthusiasts all willing to share their stories and opinions.
I suggest you join this group if you are a fan of either 2023 RAV4 or any previous RAV4 model year.
Here was the question I posed. “What are you hoping for with next-gen RAV4?” Let’s see what suggestions RAV4 forum members have.
Kevin offered this insight. “…That being said I would love if Toyota improved on the app and TSS software on their next generation vehicle. I know Toyota isn’t known for their tech, but the RAV4 is one of the more up to date cars in Toyota’s lineup. Give us the ability to lock and unlock with a phone. Let us remote start with phone. Give us options to customize the car, for example not have it beep 6 times when we exit the car with our fob…etc.”
“Power passenger seats without having to spent over $40,000.” Added Luis.
Martino suggested. “A GR version would be interesting.” Now THAT could be fun Martino. Great one buddy.
“I’m hoping the overall look and silhouette stays the same. I think Toyota hit something special with this generation. So much so, that Honda “copied” the trend with the CRV. With that said, I’m hoping for a better windshield. Windshield quality has faltered en masse.” Offered Jonathan.
“More places to store things in the front cabin area.” Said Jeff.

Roychelle required a certain set of skills (to borrow from Liam Neeson in Taken). “A V-6 would be awesome and the plastic that flaps on the rear bumper on the highway just above the exhaust makes the car look really cheap.”
“Quieter ride. Nicer wheels on base models. Also, I hate how when in eco mode, it tends to fall on its face when I need a little extra power pulling out into traffic.” Offered Vicki.
Rachel was surprised to find out I was in this forum group. “ToyotaJeff is on this page!? Updated infotainment and more AC vents for the littles in the backseat.” I am like a ninja Rachel. I can be anywhere. Provided there are Cool Ranch Doritos.
“Reduce road noise/wind noise.” Commented Nghia.
More 2023 Toyota RAV4 Lists
Theodore was nice enough to make an entire list, so I owe it to him to show it all:
1. Much better approach angle (big change on the bumper)
2. Quieter engine, especially at hard acceleration
3. More efficient AWD system with cooling feature
4. More features on the MyToyota app
5. Customizable functions for the lights, beeps etc. through the menu/app
6. Better opening angle for the rear doors
7. Glove box light
8. LED lights everywhere, in and out
9. Spare wheel for all trims, especially the off road oriented
10. More responsive CVT
11. Fix common issues such as mirror vibration and water leaks from the roof
12. Height adjustable front passenger seat
13. Off road readings (wading sensor, pitch, compass, altitude etc.)
14. Accessories options that can be installed at a service point such as dash cam, front cam, skid plate, etc.
Not to be outdone, Matt offered up his own list.
1). A quieter cabin, specifically the engine.
2). Fix quirks like the shaking mirror and hood at highway speeds.
3). Stiffer rear springs, it seems like the car sits low in the back with passengers / luggage or feels awkward making sudden maneuvers.
4). A transmission dipstick (that’s not going to happen).
5). Remote start on lower trim levels.
Katelynn had an interesting take. “I want the interior to rival that of a Kia/Hyundai. They have nice interiors but sucky engines while Toyota has nice engines but sucky interiors.”
“Heavier sheet metal, especially on the hood. Bigger interior spacing. Lower the passenger seat (or make the power passenger seat standard), quiet cabin, better interior. More aggressive styling. No more chrome, just make all the chrome black! Bring back the V6. My opinion.” And good opinions they are Tonya.
“A better approach angle and more ground clearance for the Adventure and TRD trims, similar to what Subaru does with the Wilderness line.” Said Jeffrey.
Time for Your Toyota RAV4 Comments
The big changes to the 2023 RAV4, 2023 RAV4 Hybrid, and RAV4 Prime fleet were the additions of Toyota Audio Multimedia, the new digital multi-information display, and a more advanced Toyota Safety Sense.
Because of this, 2023 Toyota RAV4 is an even better value for consumers, I feel.
I am unsure what to expect for 2024 Toyota RAV4, but my hunch is that we will have a carryover for RAV4, RAV4 Prime, and RAV4 Hybrid. There may be some updates, but I do not imagine they will be huge.
Now for next-gen RAV4, could we be seeing one for 2025 Toyota RAV4 model year? Hard to say, but we may get more clarity in the coming months.
Let me know what you think needs to happen for the next generation of Toyota RAV4.
Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story.

Don’t start the hate, but lots of what is being asked for would be solved with a RAV4 EV (not the Prius wannabe RAV4 Sportback that is the bZ4X).

I'd like a nicer face and a quieter ride to start with in a RAV4 Prime. The next generation should have improvements all around, It should get a few more miles in EV mode and handle a little better. The interior could use better materials. Other complaints should be addressed as well. Keep the price down and start meeting demand, Toyota!

I agree. Front is too boxy. Also interior panels are too dark to read for speed , changing items such as fan. Noisier than most. Nice size inside but needs a better front end look, especially for parking.

Would like bigger battery, like 50 % bigger or more.
Faster charging of battery, like charging on 2 or 3 fases, instead of only 1 fase.
Possibilly for 230V outlet, which can discharge with up to 3700 Watt, in Europe it is now only 150 Watt and also discharge with stopped car.
Less wind, tire and engine noice.

How did nobody mention the ugly infotainment system? That’s one of the things that needs to be completely overhauled. The screen needs to have zero bezel and be larger. Try to incorporate it into the front dash instead of sticking up like an ugly tablet.
I’d say put the 4cy turbo in the next rav4 as well.
A new headlight taillight design all led.
Make sure the top trims limited continues to have classy chrome or brushed chrome style wheels. Keep the black for sports xse.
Better cabin noise cancellation from engine and road.
Keep a regular sunroof as an option. Not everyone wants a pano roof.
Remote start should be standard.
Offer better leather seating on limited trims and more premium interior woods trims to set it apart from XLE premium. Heated seats in back should be standard as well.

Please please please 🙏 Toyota, get rid of the ridiculous red-striped clown seats in the Rav4 Prime. They are such an unfortunate eyesore in an otherwise beautiful rugged vehicle.
