This has been a whirlwind these last few days. Crazy and overwhelming. Especially if your job is to cover new automobile launches.
Like 2022 Toyota Tundra. I am still on system overload with so much Tundra information.
It is amazing to finally to see and touch and know all about 2022 Tundra.
2022 Toyota Tundra Reveal
Two nights ago, we finally got the Toyota Tundra information we have been waiting anxiously for.
We know key specifics for the two main powerplants.
The 2022 Tundra will be powered by either a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine (389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. torque) or an iFORCE MAX 3.5L twin-turbo V6/electric motor hybrid combo (437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. torque).
We know there will be new multi-link rear suspension utilizing coil springs.
So much new technology. Impressive bold exterior styling. Luxurious interior cabins.
But we still do not know everything. There are several key details and specifications Toyota has not disclosed yet.
Here are the main ones.
2022 Toyota Tundra MPG
It is surprising, but we still do not know the fuel efficiency for 2022 Tundra.
One of the key reasons for Toyota developing a Tundra Hybrid is for improved gas mileage. Low fuel efficiency has been one of the main critiques from Toyota Tundra owners for many years.
We cannot wait to find out the iFORCE MAX miles per gallon estimates. Plus, the base twin-turbo V6 engine estimates as well.
Please tell us now Toyota. The suspense is driving me bonkers.
2022 Toyota Tundra Price
Pricing has not been announced yet.
Buyers will have six trim levels to choose from: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and TRD Pro.
These will be offered in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive.
Many people are looking forward to purchasing the third-gen 2022 Toyota Tundra. However, without the key pricing piece of the puzzle, Tundra fans are cautiously optimistic. But still waiting.
2022 Toyota Tundra Trim Levels
I was fortunate to attend the initial 2022 Toyota Tundra reveal event recently. I saw five of the six available Toyota Tundra trim levels. I also saw many of the paint colors offered for 2022.
With all the new technology and features and safety systems, it was a bit overwhelming. And incredible.
Toyota has not yet released a “trim level by trim level” chart yet so we can pinpoint exactly what features are standard for each grade.
We also do not know available option package upgrades by trim level.
I am sure this information will be distributed when the time is right, but I would still like to know as soon as possible.
This way, I can let you know what I know.

Where the EV Tundra??? A bit disappointing there’s not an all electric version being offered. Hopefully the hybrid gets 35mpg or better.

Thankfully, no one is required to buy one. Get the Tacoma if this is too big.
For me I need a muscular full-size as I tow, haul, work, play hard, etc. with my truck.
Dying for specs and pricing as in article. The wait has been too long.

It is rumored that the Twin Turbo V6 option will only be available in Platinum, 1794, and Pro grade. SR5 fans are going to be disappointed if this is true.
