It was announced recently that the SRT Viper would become the Dodge Viper in the near future as the Chrysler Group discontinues to standalone SRT brand and to celebrate the return to Dodge, the two SRT Viper GTS-R race cars in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship will wear the livery of the unstoppable Team Oreca Dodge Vipers of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Since the supercharger Hellcat Hemi was introduced for the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT, we have talked about the likelihood of seeing that monster motor in the Dodge Charger, the Chrysler 300C and the Dodge Viper, but we have failed to consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT – which would be the most powerful production SUV in the world.

The new Hellcat Hemi will make the 2015 Dodge Challenger one of the most powerful cars sold in America and that supercharged V8 could make the Dodge Charger the most powerful sedan sold in America – and I believe that it will – but not with a manual transmission.

Since the Dodge Viper was introduced in the early 90s, it has been powered by a V10 engine because the levels of power offered by that 10 cylinder mill weren’t available in a 50-state street legal V8, but with the introduction of the 600+ horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat – the new blown V8 could prove to be a proper V8 for the Mopar supercar.

While the Chrysler Group has announced a long list of information on the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the company has continued to only offer “at least 600” as the power numbers and I think that this is due to an exciting game of chicken with Ford Motor Company and their new Shelby/SVT Mustang.

The Chrysler Group has promised that the new Dodge Viper SRT coming in 2015 will be refreshed and with the SRT Viper being practically brand new, it has left many people wondering what the 2015 refresh might hold – and I think that it will bring about the introduction of the newest Viper convertible or roadster.

In many of the discussions around the internet pertaining to the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, there are some people who insist that this 600+ horsepower Challenger will be a proper muscle car that will beat the Corvette Z06 – but I am here to tell those folks that even if the Hellcat packs more power, the Z06 is going to have a decisive advantage.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will come with a supercharged 6.2L Hemi that will deliver at least 600 horsepower and at least 575lb-ft of torque – but it will also come with two different ignition key fobs that will allow the driver to limit the capabilities of this monster for different driving situations.

When the Chrysler Group formally announced the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Hemi earlier this week, they were good enough to include a couple video clips of the car in action – but this amateur video of the Hellcat Hemi revving hard is a much better display of what this 600+ horsepower monster will sound like at wide open throttle.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will feature a 200 mile per hour speedometer, leaving us to wonder if the 600+ horsepower Mopar muscle car could be the 4th of the modern American performance cars to hit the 200mph mark – possibly joining some very impressive company including the Dodge Viper, the Chevrolet Corvette and the Ford Mustang.

While the big news from the Chrysler Group yesterday was the official announcement of the 600+ horsepower Hellcat Hemi that will power the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT, but while we were all so focused on the new supercharged monster, we quickly skimmed over the fact that the new SRT Challenger will be offered in two different trimlines – one with the Hellcat Hemi and one with the current 392 Hemi.

This morning, the Chrysler Group dropped the first official information on the long awaited Hellcat Hemi that will power the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT – including the incredible news that the Hellcat will indeed pack more than 600 horsepower.

If the expectations of the supercharged 6.2L supercharged Hellcat Hemi prove to be accurate, anything in the 600hp range would make the Dodge Charger SRT the most powerful full production sedan sold in the United States – packing more of a punch than anything offered by the best performance sedans from Europe.

While we know that the new Hellcat Hemi will power the future 2016 Dodge Charger SRT, there seems to be plenty of space for the 6.4L Hemi in the Charger lineup as a Scat Pack option – similar to the setup of the 2015 Dodge Challenger.

2015 Dodge Challenger test mules have been running around the Metro Detroit area for months now, but with the New York debut of the new look, the camouflage is coming off of these mules and I recently stumbled across one in Milford – offering a good idea as to what to expect from the 2015 Challenger SXT Plus.

Since the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T was introduced last week at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, there have been critics who hate the new look for a variety of different reasons – but Chrysler doesn’t care if you hate the 2015 Charger design because there really isn’t any competition for the brawny Mopar sport sedan.

While the introduction of the new 2015 Dodge Charger R/T at the 2014 New York Auto Show focused on the striking new exterior design, but what went unmentioned in many reports on the facelifted Charger (including ours) is that 2015 Charger buyers cannot order the 5.7L Hemi with the advanced all wheel drive system after the option proved to be fairly unpopular in the current models.
