Exclusive Video of 2015 Challenger Hellcat on the drag strip

Yesterday I spent my day driving this 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. I am flying back now and you will be able to read my thoughts on driving the 2015 Challenger later this month. You can also expect plenty more videos over the next few days showing a variety of 2015 Challengers in action on the road and track.

What you see in this video, is just a quick look taken from my phone. This Challenger Hellcat is fitted with the 8 speed automatic transmission and on this run, it is being driven by another journalist.

They gave us both the auto and manual of the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. For the street drive and the drag racing, we had automatic Hellcats. But, for the road racing we had manual models. We also had auto V6s and both manual and auto of the R/T, Scat Pack and SRT392 for road driving and road racing. My best run in the hellcat was an 11.8 at 118, but that was on a track with absolutely no grip preparation. Traction was a big issue, but I was happy to get into the 11s.

As you may recall, few days ago Chrysler Group rolled out another video showing off their new Hellcat and this newest video of the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat is by far the best yet with our first look at a full quarter mile run – with the 707hp Challenger turning a stunning 10 second quarter mile time.

When it was announced two weeks ago that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would come with 707 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque, I referred to it as the most powerful American production car of all time and after getting some feedback on that claim, I wanted to take a moment to justify why I believe that to be true and you can read about that here.
