Yesterday, Chevrolet added two new videos to their official YouTube featuring the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 one titled “Reaction” and the other, “Magic” – each of which offer a brief look at what makes this one of the most capable factory build performance cars of all time. Considering how much went into the 2012 Camaro ZL1 and how much it differs from the Camaro LT, LS and SS we can expect (or hope) for more videos of this type in the coming months leading up to the public debut of the high performance Camaro.
The first video, named Reaction, begins with a look at the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 being rolled out of an enclosed car hauler followed by the car going through what looks to be pre-race preparations. The voiceover guy then begins to talk about the new launch control system which turns the best-handling Camaro of all time into a drag strip terror, simply by pushing the traction control button twice. The video then flashes to a scene of the ZL1 doing a quick burnout followed by the super Camaro launching from the starting line of Milan Dragway in Michigan. The video then gives us a look at the Camaro ZL1 roaring down the quarter mile and while no indication as to just how quick it made it through the quarter mile, this video gives us drag racers a great look at the ZL1 in action.
The second video for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is titled Magic and it focuses “what makes the ZL1”. The voiceover guy (presumably an engineer) talks about the key additions to the Camaro ZL1, including the splitter, heat extractor, the 6-piston Brembo brakes, the magnetic shocks and other items followed by a variety of clips of the ZL1 ripping around General Motors’ Milford Proving Grounds. This video shows the ZL1 taking all sorts of turns from a handful of angles, finishing off with the Camaro sliding at high speed through a long, sweeping turn.
These two videos offer a great look at the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 in two very different high performance settings, showing that this will be the ultimate muscle car for both road racers and drag racers alike. Hopefully, in the next few months GM and Chevrolet will offer up more videos of the ZL1 in action before it hits the street next year.
