The 5th generation Chevrolet Camaro was introduced for the 2010 model year, after a seven year hiatus in production for the GM muscle car. Since returning, the new Camaro has been incredibly popular, beating both the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger in sales every year since being introduced…and it appears as though it will outsell the Ford this year as well.
2015 marks the final model year for the current generation Chevrolet Camaro so as they have done in the past, General Motors will offer up a special edition package to celebrate the end of a great run and the beginning of what likely be another popular generation of the Camaro. That special edition – the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition will be formally introduced later this week at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

"The fifth-generation Camaro was a success from the moment it was introduced, in attracting both long-time Camaro fans and new buyers who have never owned a Chevrolet," said Todd Christensen, Camaro Marketing Manager. "We wanted to create a special edition Camaro that celebrates that success as the fifth generation comes to a close as the end of the model year."

11th Special Edition 5th Gen Camaro
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition arrives in the final year as the 11th special edition package in the 6 year run of the 5th generation Camaro, after 2014 was the only model year devoid of a unique special edition package.
2010 - Camaro buyers could pick the Transformers Edition or the Indy Pace Car Edition.
2011 - The Camaro got another Indy Pace Car Edition, the Neiman Marcus Edition and the Camaro Synergy Series.
2012 - The Transformers Edition returned, along with a new Camaro Synergy Series and the 45th Anniversary Edition
2013 – The Camaro Dusk was joined by the Hot Wheels Edition Camaro.
2014 – No special edition packages
2015 – Commemorative Edition
Of course, in addition to these special edition packages above, the 5th generation Camaro has come in LS, LT, SS, 1LE, Z/28, ZL1 and COPO form – all of which helped the Chevrolet Camaro lead the muscle car segment in sales every year since 2010.
