Three hours ago, the image above showing what looks to be the 2019 or 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang popped up on the Instagram account of Sinister_Lifestyle. There is no other information on the car in the post, so we don’t know how this Instagrammer got ahold of this image, but we imagine that the folks at Ford aren’t too happy about it.
In these image, we don’t learn much, but we get out best look yet at the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. It has an aggressive front end with a massive grille opening, ideal for cooling a big, supercharged V8. It also appears to have more prominent wheel arches than the other current Mustangs, so there may be a bit of a widebody design, but in any case, this car appears to have very wide tires at all four corners.
Coupled with the big wing out back and brakes that appear to fill the wheels, we would guess that this car packs power like a Hellcat while being designed to be more of a road-handling machine. Think of it as a sort of Shelby GT350R on steroids – something that will be able to hold its own on a road course while also being a solid straight-line performer.
In any case, with this picture traveling quickly around the internet, it is only a matter of time before Ford Motor Company finally rolls out some official information on the new Shelby GT500 Mustang.
It is expected to debut next January at the Detroit Auto Show, but with any luck, the leak of this picture will push Ford to provide some details sooner than that.

It looks nice and muscular. But the design is not too much of a surprise given the teasers and disguised versions that we have been seeing on the internet for so long.
But it will be good if this leak moves Ford to move forward in releasing more pics and info on the GT500.

That doesn't leave much if any torque capacity, with the 13/14 at 630 ft/lb , I'd assume as much or more torque with the increased power?
