The Infiniti QX80 sport utility vehicle is not new to award winning, but this latest award from J.D. Power may be the most fitting yet. The APEAL Study surveys car buyers on 77 attributes about their vehicles. The results from that are combined into a 1,000-point index that scores individual models based on those responses. A score of 877, a 23-point improvement over last year, put the QX80 at the top of its segment.
"The JD Power APEAL Study represents a deep dive into every aspect of what owners appreciate about their new purchases or leases – from appearance, driving performance and safety features to all the little details that make you fall in love with, or out of, a vehicle," said Randy Parker, vice president, Infiniti Americas. "The large premium SUV segment includes some very impressive competitors, so it is especially gratifying to have our owners rank the QX80 at the top of the segment."
Top reasons for liking the QX80 were exterior styling, interior roominess, ride, and handling. These all come from the Infiniti's 5.6-liter V8, distinctive looks, and attention to interior refinement. All things that have won the Infiniti QX80 accolades in the past.
Also ranking in the APEAL Index was the Infiniti Q70 sedan, the midsize sedan in the luxury makes lineup. The Q70 took the number three spot in its class (Midsize Premium Car), scoring 873 on the Index.
