The new Bollinger B1 all-electric pickup is crazy fast, has a range of 220 miles and built for off-road. This according to the design company that has built and show a new prototype. Note that we did not call Bollinger a manufacturer. That is because Bollinger does not plan to actually build the B1 itself, but rather, to have a big-name automaker build the vehicle for them. Perhaps Tesla might be interested? Or Maybe Mercedes-Benz?
The new pickup was shown at its reveal last Friday night. The big news is range. The B1 will have two options for battery packs with 110 and 220-mile ranges available. The next stunner is its 0-60 MPH time. This sub-4,000 pound vehicle has 360 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque. Bollinger says that equates to a 0-60 MPH time of 4.5 seconds, quicker than Ford's new Raptor. Off-road, the B1 should be almost unstoppable. It features 15.5" of ground clearance and 10" of wheel travel. Towing is rated at 6,100 pounds.
Stop us if you've heard this one before: The B1 is not yet for sale, there is no firm production date, and Bollinger is now accepting $1,000 deposits. It seems that the electric drive is not the only thing the B1 shares with Tesla's vehicles. You can learn more at the Bollinger website. We will bring updates when pricing and first production dates are announced.
