The countdown to the May 20th start date of the 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata Pre-Order system being open for customers has begun. The site will begin to accept reservations at exactly 10:25am on that Tuesday. Mazda will accept pre-orders from the first 250 customers that register. Expectations are that there will be many more applicants for the 100 special Miatas, but if not Mazda will close the site at 11:25am on May 31st (2014). The first 100 verified registrants will be given the chance to participate.
Mazda also announced prices for the 2015 25th Anniversary MX-5 Miatas. The Special Edition, which will only come with the Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT), will start at a very reasonable $32,205. This price includes the many special 25th Anniversary features that we detailed on our previous story. All cars will have the Soul Red Metallic body, Brilliant Black hard-top and matching trim, Almond leather interior, and Dark Gunmetal Aluminum wheels. Engine parts will be hand-selected for the custom-built cars and parts of the paint inside the vehicle will be done by hand to make each car unique.
Mazda surprised fans by also announcing that all buyers of the 25th Anniversary Edition MX-5 Miata will also receive a special commemorative watch. The Swiss-made Tourneau watch will come complete with special winder box and an Italian leather band with contrast stitching in colors to match the car.
This car will very likely be a historical vehicle that will be long remembered and possibly much sought after in the future. To register for the program please visit the Mazda microsite at this link.
