The best family cars of 2022 were announced by Kelly Blue Book (KBB), and they say the 2022 Subaru Outback is one of the top four picks in the Two-Row SUV category. KBB says there are four reasons why it's their top pick, along with the popular Honda CR-V, Hyundai Sonata, and top-selling Toyota RAV4.
Kelly Blue Book says, "The Subaru Outback has the capability and space of an SUV, the comfort of a wagon, and an impressive roster of safety features, including standard all-wheel drive."

Kelly Blue Book also says the 2022 Outback midsize SUV is their top pick in the 5-Year Cost to Own Awards. KBB predicted the 2022 Outback to have a 5-year cost-to-own of $43,973 (including the purchase price), which is $6,730 less than the Two-Row SUV segment average.
