We are seeing a new global era in the auto industry and Mercedes has just made a giant leap forward in world dominance in the premium market. They have launched the new 2014 CLA-Class and it’s helping Mercedes become the number one luxury brand around the globe. This September, Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles than in any other previous month, and it signals the future is bright for the German automaker.
Mercedes-Benz has a goal to overtake rivals Audi and BMW as the number one luxury brand in the world, and September makes a strong statement as to where the Stuttgart automaker is headed. In spite of the economy in Europe, Mercedes sales are up in Germany and Europe. Sales are also very strong in the U.S. where they manufacture the world-popular M-Class that is now the highest-selling vehicle worldwide in its class.
The new premium compacts recently introduced by Mercedes-Benz have been a “sales revelation” over the past nine months. Worldwide, 267,467 customers bought an A-Class, B-Class or CLA-Class model (+68.3%). They are appealing to a new generation of millennial buyers who are purchasing a Mercedes vehicle for the first time.
The new CLA-Class four-door coupe design is proving to be particularly popular among global millennial buyers. In September, the new CLA compact coupe was named best new compact in the 2013 ‘Autonis’ design awards, voted for by readers of magazine ‘auto, motor und sport’. The luxury four-door coupe only after one week in the U.S., is already seeing blistering sales.
Also in September, Mercedes-Benz presented its fourth compact car model, the 2015 GLA-Class luxury SUV that looks set to conquer the key segment of compact SUVs and win new customers for the brand when it launches in spring 2014 in Europe. Mercedes has a plan to be the number one luxury brand around the globe and it’s working to perfection.
Dr Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars commented in the press release, “Never before has Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles in a single month than this September. The new S-Class is already the distinct market leader in Germany and Europe. Our compacts and the new E-Class are also proving hugely popular with customers. Looking at the previous nine months, we can safely say that Mercedes-Benz will post another sales record for 2013.”
Mercedes is advancing in the U.S., China, and Japan. Much of this growth can be attributed to the luxury compact models and the new E-Class, which was launched to great success. The new S-Class is already leading the way of new vehicle registrations in Germany. With its launch in the Chinese market in September its global presence and position will be further strengthened.
Look for the all-new 2014 CLA Class to continue to catapult sales for Mercedes to new heights. And when the new 2015 GLA-Class launches next year, it will only be a matter of time before Mercedes moves past BMW and Audi for the top spot.
