The Toyota Motorsport GmbH GT86 CS-Cup is for the track only and you can’t buy it at any price. Toyota Motorsports GmbH in Germany built this one-off 86 sports coupe for Europe’s Cup Series. Toyota shipped it to the U.S. for the SEMA Show this week.
Toyota says it was built from a stock 2017 86 sports coupe. They brought it to the show that isn’t open to the public, but only for professionals in the auto industry to see.
This special Toyota 86 is built strictly for the track and Toyota says they brought it over here to “inspire, to innovate and to excite.” We are sure it will do that as Toyota has a big presence at SEMA. They also brought an XTREME Corolla, Tacoma TRD Pro Race Truck, and a rare Toyota 2000GT. Only 351 were made and it set several FIA speed and endurance records on the track. It’s called “Japans first supercar”.
The GT86 CS-Cup’s livery pays homage to Toyota’s racing heritage with a retro red and white design on the outside. It also features a functional aero package that helps the car stick the rear wheels to the track with functional downforce.
All three of the vehicles, and many other Toyota specialty vehicles, can be seen in the Toyota display booth (#24800) in Central Hall and on the Patio Annex of the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 1-4, 2016 at the SEMA Show if you are lucky enough to go.
