The new high-performance 2016 BMW M4 GTS will arrive in U.S. showrooms in spring 2016. It will make its North American debut on November 18, 2015 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It’s the first-ever water-injection BMW to launch and it gets impressive performance. The BMW M4 Coupe gets a substantial boost from BMW M GmbH technology with the new 2016 BMW M4 GTS that’s designed for the track.
The innovative water injection system in the M4 GTS is what sets this high-performance track-ready model apart from the standard M4 Coupe. The system developed by BMW M GmbH helps boost power to 493 bHP, an increase of 16 percent over the BMW M4’s 3.0-liter TwinTurbo inline six engine and torque has been increased by 10 percent to 442 lb-ft. BMW says the M4 GTS will launch from 0-60 mph in a quick 3.7 seconds with a governed top speed of 189.5 mph.
The BMW announced the new 2016 BMW M4 GTS will be launching worldwide and will be limited to just 700 examples with 300 units of this high-performance Special Edition M4 will make its way to U.S. shores next spring. The high-performance model recently recorded a lap time of 7 minutes 28 seconds around the legendary Nurburgring-Nordschleife.
Along with the new 2016 BMW M4 GTS, the Bavarian automaker will feature the all-new BMW 7 Series, the eDrive BMW X5 xDrive40e, the new BMW 3 Series as well as the high-performance eDrive BMW i8, the all-electric BMW i3 at the BMW Stand in LA. Stay tuned.
