"GLA comes with 18-inch wheels…" Mentioned as if these impractical wheels/tires are a positive – and most "reviewers" will herd-like repeat. With little rubber between the wheel-rim and road the ride will be rough, the wheels will get damaged, fuel mileage will suffer and replacement costs are high. Positives – little to none. For Mercedes and others: I will not be buying an SUV with 18,19,20,21,22 inch, ad infinitum, wheels. I'll leave the idiotic, uninformed, fad to others.

You're absolutely correct, but the big wheels fad is consumer driven; manufacturers are just giving buyers what they want. It is a case of the customer not being always right, though.
