What is the best resale value Subaru model for new car shoppers? It's the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV. That's according to the latest Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards announced recently.
I previously wrote that the Crosstrek is Subaru's only model to make this year's list. But Subaru retailers in North America will shout the news from the rooftops to new Crosstrek buyers.
WardsAuto says, "Subaru retailers can assure shoppers that the Crosstrek's resale value may translate into hundreds or thousands of dollars. The study recognizes vehicles' projected retained value through the initial five-year ownership period."
Rheia Szymczyk, senior manager of valuation operations for Kelley Blue Book, says, "The automotive landscape continues to change rapidly, with more new brands and models with varying powertrains introduced each year."
The 2024 Crosstrek Is All-New
Subaru Corporation has done this. They gave the 2024 Crosstrek a complete remodel from the ground up, and the new Crosstrek gets significant upgrades over the 2023 model-year subcompact SUV.
Subaru of America introduced the new Crosstrek a little over one year ago, and it's been a success right out of the gate.

What does the KBB Award Mean For Shoppers?
These latest KBB accolades for the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek let customers know it will keep its value better than the other subcompact SUVs. KBB says the 2024 Crosstrek has a resale value of 52.6%—the highest of any subcompact SUV.
Subaru Retailers Can Tout the Crosstrek's Strong Resale Value
Here's what it means for new model shoppers. If you plan on keeping your new car for 3-5 years, depreciation (loss of value) is typically your primary expense during ownership. It shows shoppers which vehicle will be the best in terms of resale value.
What does KBB say about the 2024 Crosstrek?
"While the successful Subaru Crosstrek enters a completely new generation for 2024, the changes are decidedly evolutionary. That's okay in our book because we were already fans of this spunky adventure wagon. Wait, is it a wagon? Not technically; however, calling it an SUV is a stretch, too. It's really somewhere in between."
