The Subaru Crosstrek Climbs High And Another New Model Is On The Horizon

The next-generation 2024 Crosstrek is all and more than expected. Check out its June sales performance and see why it achieved another best-ever record. See what's on the horizon for the hot Crosstrek.

Crosstrek keeps trekking

If you don't think Subaru Corporation hit a home run with the all-new next-generation 2024 Crosstrek, I'll show you its June sales record. The new Crosstrek is not Subaru of America's (SOA) best-selling model, but it's a close second. And Crosstrek had its best June ever.

Find out in my overall performance report here how Crosstrek helped SOA achieve its impressive 23rd consecutive month of sales increases.

Can Crosstrek get any hotter?

The newly remodeled 2024 Crosstrek subcompact SUV was the second best seller in June. SOA reports that 15,132 subcompact SUVs were delivered to customers in June 2024, compared with 13,802 in June 2023, a 9.6 percent increase.

Crosstrek sales increased by 9.6 percent in the first six months of 2024, with 79,500 models sold compared with 76,130 in 2023. Along with Forester, Outback, and Solterra, Crosstrek is the fourth model to see an increase in sales for the first six months.

Crosstrek hits another record.

As I mentioned, the newly remodeled 2024 Crosstrek subcompact SUV just had its best June ever, and it's hot. The new Wilderness trim helps spur sales.

It's not a surprise because the new rugged Crosstrek Wilderness trim level is sought-after. Crosstrek is the model most taken off-road by customers, and now outdoor enthusiasts have the Wilderness trim level that's already set up to get further off the trail. Read my report on Wilderness here.

Still neck and neck

The competition between the Outback and Crosstrek for the second-highest total sales volume for the year is a thrilling race that keeps the industry dynamics engaging and exciting.

How does Subaru Corporation top the new Crosstrek Wilderness?

There's a new Crosstrek trim coming. Remember the Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid? Only a few people got excited about the Crosstrek PHEV, so Subaru discontinued the trim level. Find out more from my Crosstrek Hybrid report here.

The anticipation for the new Crosstrek Hybrid is notable, promising an exciting future for Subaru and its enthusiasts.

My recent report from an Automotive News (by subscription) story said Subaru Corporation will bring back the Crosstrek Hybrid trim level in 2026. It looks even more likely because Tetsuo Fujinuki, Subaru's chief technical officer, explained the new Subaru Hybrid technology in a new video.

A camouflaged Subaru Crosstrek prototype was displayed next to the new Boxer engine he described. You can read my report on the new Subaru Crosstrek Boxer/Hybrid tech here

With the Crosstrek due for a refresh in 2026, it's reasonable to expect the new Crosstrek hybrid to hit the market in two years. This timeline provides potential buyers with a clear understanding of when they can expect to see the latest model in showrooms.

As Automotive News reported, the new Crosstrek hybrid powertrain could be added when the Crosstrek undergoes its mid-cycle refresh, which should come in 2026. I am speculating that Subaru will manufacture the new U.S. specification 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant.

The next-generation Subaru Crosstrek is flying high with more record-setting feats. But Subaru won't sit on its success. There's more to come.

Very interested in Crosstrek hybrid. After driving Prius that I loved, switched to a Crosstrek and love it but miss the zip and gas mileage from the Prius. Wish it wasn’t 2 years away.

I was one of the buyers in June and I am loving it already! My first Subaru and I'm sure it won't be my last!

Despite the fact we are one of the chosen few that purchased the first PHEV crosstrek, we would consider purchasing the 2026. The original did spur us on to purchase a bev and currently Rav 4 Prime

I actually own the 2023 Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid and absolutely love it. I would be thrilled to see a new Plug-In Hybrid for the Trek in the future.

After three decades of Honda, I bought my wife a 2024 Crosstrek. Up close in the showroom it was impressive. After the second test ride, (1st time on a sunny day, 2nd time in some nasty showers) we were sold. There are many nice features to mention and the Crosstrek keeps it logically simple. I am amazed that interior space is so ample. At 6’2”, I was somewhat cramped in every other small or compact SUV. The Crosstrek seat and legroom combo is excellent. My wife at 5’3”, with ongoing hip and back issues, can position the very accomodating drivers seat to a perfect comfort level. I am learning the Boxer engine, smooth, quiet and seemingly uncomplicated. Interesting history on that motor and its’
lower center of gravity proves effective. I’ll probably be in my three year old Honda CR-V for a few more years but with two key fobs I look for every chance I can get to take that new Crosstrek places.
