Will the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness be sold everywhere around the globe? Subaru Corporation made the details of the outdoor-themed subcompact SUV official in their recent press release. The all-new rugged 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is exclusively for North America.
The Crosstrek Wilderness is manufactured at the Subaru plant in Lafayette, Indiana, and will only be available in the U.S. and Canada.
Why is the Crosstrek Wilderness only sold in North America?
Torque News reported in an interview with Automotive News (by subscription) Subaru Corporation CEO Tomomi Nakamura that the automaker would focus most on the U.S., where they sell close to seventy percent of its all-wheel-drive cars. And the Crosstrek is the hot model in the U.S. market.
Subaru of America and its retailers asked for the more rugged Crosstrek Wilderness, and Subaru Corporation delivered. They also asked the Japanese automaker to switch production of the Crosstrek Sport and Premium trims from Japan to the U.S. plant, and they delivered again. However, Subaru did one better, and the new Crosstrek Wilderness will also be built at Subaru Indiana Automotive.
What factory modifications will the Crosstrek Wilderness include?
The off-road-ready upgrades include an advanced dual-function X-Mode, elevated 9.3-inch ground clearance, standard front skid plate, and an upgraded suspension. The rugged model also comes standard with 17-inch Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires.
The Crosstrek Wilderness will handle more challenging trails with a nearly one-inch increase in ground clearance over the standard model's 8.7 inches. In addition, Subaru says the suspension is tuned for improved stability, and the front and rear shock absorbers and springs were increased in length to provide additional ground clearance and suspension travel.
Subaru says the approach angle in the Wilderness is increased from 18.0 degrees from other Crosstrek models to 20.0 degrees. In addition, the departure angle increased from 30.1 to 33.0 degrees, and the ramp break-over angle increased from 19.7 to 21.1 degrees.
What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness?
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness will be the most expensive Crosstrek trim level. The all-new Crosstrek Wilderness costs $33,290, including dealer destination and delivery fees ($1,295).
An available option package for Crosstrek Wilderness includes a power moonroof, a 10-way power driver seat with 2-way lumbar support, and a Harman Kardon 10-speaker system with a 432-watt equivalent amplifier for an MSRP of $2,270.
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness trim is uniquely built for Subaru of America and Subaru Canada customers. The all-new, outdoor-themed model is made in the U.S. and will stay in North America.
