In the past few weeks, Tesla has been ramping up Cybertruck production. Tesla produced the first Cybertruck at Giga Texas only last month however, since then, thanks to drone flyovers, we’ve confirmation that the EV maker has built at least 30 to 40 release candidate Cybertrucks.
We’ve also seen the same release candidate Cybertrucks getting transported across the United States and being ferried away by plane halfway around the world.
Several Cybertruck prototypes have made their way to New Zealand for towing and winter testing. We’ve also seen nine Cybertruck prototypes arrive at Tesla’s Fremont, California plant.
Three more Cybertruck release candidates have been spotted heading north for a potential EPA efficiency and range test at The National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
We’ve also seen a release candidate Cybertruck filming what’s most likely an official Tesla promotional video with a large film crew up on a glacier in Iceland.
If all these weren’t enough, late last night, Elon Musk also shared a picture of the first “production candidate” Cybertruck hinting that deliveries are imminent. However, the Cybertruck Musk reviewed had a lot of fit and finish issues prompting Musk to issue a letter to Tesla employees rallying them to improve the Cybertruck’s build precision to micron levels similar to that of LEGOs and Soda cans.
