Climate Activists Say the Tesla Cybertruck is “Armored to Catastrophe” as they Pour Orange Paint & Vandalize the Truck as part of their Climate Protest

In what’s starting to become a concerning trend, Tesla has once again been targeted by environmental groups. This time, activists poured orange pain over a Cybertruck displayed at a showroom, claiming the Cybertruck is “armored to catastrophe.”

With the climate crisis at a critical juncture, climate activists' actions have taken on a new level of eccentricity. Their attempts to draw attention to their cause have become more erratic and bizarre.

One atrocious example in the last month is the “Just Stop Oil” group’s protest spraying orange powder over Stonehenge, a historic site of significance.

What does defacing historic sites have to do with moving away from burning fossil fuels? You be the judge of that. Even more surprisingly, the people presumably trying to stop global warming have put Tesla in their crosshairs.

The logic behind these actions is baffling to any reasonable observer; however, despite our bewilderment, the supposed “climate activists” have again struck against Tesla.

This time, their preferred course of action is vandalizing a Tesla Cybertruck displayed at a Tesla store in Germany, a disturbingly persistent pattern of behavior.

Attacks by climate activists against Tesla in Germany have been widespread, and since the company started to build a factory in the country, the attacks have been relentless.

Initially, climate activists significantly delayed Giga Berlin’s start of construction for supposed environmental reasons. Once the plant started operations, despite non-stop interference from the environmental groups and bureaucratic red tape, they shifted their efforts to stop the plant's expansion.

A couple of months back, in a bizarre display of disregard for public safety, supposed climate activists cut the power line to the whole town where Tesla’s Germany factory is located.

On March 5, the supposed climate activists barged into the Giga Berlin compound in mass and tried to stop work at the site forcefully.

Other climate groups have also been camped out on-site for months to prevent Tesla from clearing the forest next to the factory and expanding the plant’s production capacity.

This is despite the area being an artificially created forest for logging purposes, and Tesla is committing to reforesting three times the area with biodiversity-rich trees.

It has been difficult to explain all this. Tesla is the leading company in the world's transition to sustainable transport and energy. Other automakers, including Volkswagen, which was involved in Dieselgate, receive less scrutiny from climate activists than Tesla.

There is clear evidence that proves at least some of the climate groups that are ardent critics of Tesla are funded by German automakers, although there is no conclusive evidence linking the funding source directly to their anti-Tesla activities.

Germany has a long and disappointing history of climate activists' detrimental actions against Tesla. However, going back to their latest action, a German activist group named Last Generation stormed a Tesla showroom in Hamburg, Germany, and decided to vandalize a Cybertruck displayed inside the store.

As you can see in the video, two guys wearing orange reflective vests break into the store, topple over the lines set up around the Cybertruck, and start pouring orange paint all over the vehicle.

One individual can be seen opening the Cybertruck doors and pouring the same orange paint inside the truck while another pours more orange paint over the Cybertruck’s windows and hoods.

Once they had completed their act of vandalism, the individuals held up a sign reading “armored to catastrophe.” This slogan appears to be in connection with Cybertruck’s bulletproof stainless steel exoskeleton and the climate activists’ belief that we are heading toward a catastrophic climate situation.

What’s surprising here is that even if we support their efforts to draw attention to the climate crisis, it doesn’t make sense why they would target an electric vehicle to make their point.

Although large and powerful, the Cybertruck is significantly better for the environment than any other internal combustion vehicle; that assertion still holds true even if the vehicle is exclusively charged using our current grid.

By vandalizing an electric vehicle in the middle of the city in the name of climate activism, these individuals are making a mockery of their purported mission.

This is why I believe some of the supposed “climate activist” actions surrounding Tesla might be led and coordinated by competitors who stand to profit from Tesla’s struggles.
