Trucks are nowhere in the world as popular as in the US. For most big automakers, most of their truck sales occur in the United States. This fact gives people the wrong perception that trucks are also mostly manufactured in the US.
However, if we go by the numbers, the majority of trucks, even those assembled in the US, get most of their parts either from Mexico or China.

Let’s take the Ford F series trucks as an example. The Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350 are the most popular vehicles – truck or otherwise – in the US. Not only that, for 47 consecutive years, Ford F series trucks have been the best-selling vehicles in the US.
With these kinds of numbers, you would think the Ford F series vehicles are also produced in the US, however, taking the F-150 as an example, only 30% of the components of the vehicle are produced in the US and Canada.
If we go strictly by where the majority of the value of the vehicles are produced, the Ford F series trucks are in reality majority Mexican or Chinese trucks.
This is not to single out Ford and the F series trucks. All of the most popular trucks sold in the US have the majority of their components produced outside the country.
However, among the sea of foreign-produced trucks, one truck stands above all as the most American-made truck sold in the US. And surprisingly, at least for most people, that vehicle is the Tesla Cybertruck.

Given Tesla does not have its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan similar to the big three automakers (Ford, GM, & Chrysler) there is a view that Tesla is a foreign automaker.
However, Tesla has its main headquarters in Austin, Texas, and engineering headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Last I checked both places are still part of the USA.
Not only that, Tesla vehicles are also the most American-made vehicles sold in the country. By the percentage of their parts, the Model Y, Model X, Model 3, and Model S are the top 4 most American-made vehicles, respectively.
This makes Tesla, despite what the majority of people think, the most American car manufacturer in the world.
If this wasn’t enough, Tesla’s newest vehicle. the Cybertruck has also recently gotten a breakdown of where the parts that make up the vehicle were produced. And to people’s surprise, the Cybertruck is now officially the most American-made truck on sale.
According to the Cybertruck’s Monroney sticker, 90% of the parts that make up the truck are produced in North America. This includes 65% of the parts produced in the US/Canada and the remaining 25% produced in Mexico.
BREAKING: Tesla's Cybertruck is officially the most American made truck overall!
The Cybertruck has 90% North American parts, including 65% from the US/Canada, per Tesla's Monroney sticker. The Ford F-150 Lightning has just 38% US/Canada content, and the ICE version just 30%.… pic.twitter.com/VBkoU15te8

If trucks are the most American type of vehicle and Cybertruck is the most American-made truck then this means Cybertruck is the most American vehicle.
Currently, it’s not exactly clear how being the most American-made truck will affect the Cybertruck's sales and price. However, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as we learn more about the situation.
Until then, make sure to visit our site torquenews.com/Tesla regularly for the latest updates.
So what do you think? Surprised to learn that the Cybertruck is the most American-made truck? Do you think this fact will negatively or positively affect Cybertruck sales? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
