Elon Musk is Pleased After the Author of ‘Unplugged Alpha’ Said He Legitimately Dislikes Electric Cars but Is Thinking About Buying a Tesla Just to Support Musk

Elon Musk is showcasing new Tesla customers who were previously averse to electric vehicles but are now drawn to the brand because of his actions. Excited, Musk exclaims, “Tesla rocks!"

In recent weeks, a lot of people have been swearing off Teslas because of Elon Musk. Protests have been held outside Tesla stores, and Tesla owners have faced threats and harassment as the anti-Elon Musk sentiment gets directed toward them.

Some Tesla owners are publicly announcing that they are selling their vehicles in protest against Elon Musk, while others are placing stickers on their cars stating that they do not support him, such as, “I bought this before I knew Elon Musk is crazy,” and so on.

This has understandably raised concerns among Tesla fans and investors, who are afraid the EV maker will have difficulty finding enough buyers for its vehicles.

However, amidst all this upheaval, a few hours ago, Musk highlighted a man who says he normally doesn’t like electric vehicles but is considering buying a Tesla because he likes Elon Musk’s actions lately.

The guy, Rick Cooper, is the author of “Unplugged Alpha: The No-Nonsense Guide to Winning in Life & Women.”

Rick Cooper, tagging Elon Musk, writes…

“I legitimately dislike electric cars, but I am thinking about buying a Tesla just to support Elon Musk.”

This is not a sentiment we hear a lot lately. However, there are certainly a lot of individuals who became Elon Musk fans in the last couple of months.

We’ve even covered a man from Tennessee who says he’s trading in his Toyota Tundra and buying a Tesla Cybertruck “because of all the great work Elon Musk is doing for our country.”

Some Cybertruck owners are also organizing a counter-protest to show support for Elon Musk; they say, “200 Cybertrucks surrounding the anti-Tesla protestors will show them who the majority is.”

Having said that, judging from all the outrage, these pro-Elon Musk sentiments appear to be in the minority.

Nevertheless, Elon Musk is understandably eager to emphasize these sentiments over his critics.

Choosing from the thousands of X posts he gets tagged in a single day, Elon Musk decided to respond to Rick Cooper.

Musk simply wrote…

“Teslas rock!”

Something to keep in mind here is that Elon Musk’s reply is as much about addressing the issue as it is about promoting people whose points of view he agrees with.

Now, everyone recognizes that X’s algorithm ranks a user higher when he/she consistently engages with other higher-ranked individuals on the application.

Musk is aware of this, and his followers are too. This is why Elon Musk occasionally responds to tweets with unusual phrases like ‘concerning,’ ‘100%,’ or simply an exclamation mark or an emoji.

This is to increase the reach of the content he agrees with rather than to actually respond to the content.

Like most people, Musk prefers to elevate those who agree with him and downplay those who disagree.

However, it’s unclear how boosting those who agree with him at an algorithmic level influences Musk's ability to find opposing viewpoints or accurate information.

That said, Musk seems to be losing some Tesla customers due to his recent actions while he’s also attracting new customers.

Now, the question is whether Musk is drawing enough new customers to support Tesla’s vehicle sales growth aimed at achieving 10 million vehicles per year by 2030.

I bet a lot of non EV people will switch over once they find out how Teslas perform. The Cybertruck counterprotesters should do back to back, coordinated Tesla light shows while they are there.
