I Don’t Know Why Women Keep Laughing at Me When I’m Out Driving my Tesla Cybertruck

A Tesla Cybertruck owner says there is a concerted effort to publicly shame people who drive the all-electric truck. He recounts several instances where people pointed and laughed at him while driving his Cybertruck.

Jesse is a Cybertruck owner who goes by the handle “Sturdybirdy” on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. Although he spent more than $100,000 to purchase his Cybertruck, Jesse is unhappy with the reaction he’s getting when driving his truck.

The Cybertruck owner shared his negative experience on the forum under the title “The New Attack on the Cybertruck: Derision.” He went into detail about this “attack,” first, highlighting the negative reaction he has gotten from women.

Here is what he wrote…

“I was taking a right turn out of a convenience store driveway the other day, waiting for the traffic to go by, and noticed the driver, a female, was apparently laughing hysterically at my truck. She was alone, pointing at my truck and laughing hard.

I initially smiled because what else could I do, but after a second or two, I realized she was laughing derisively. She was like, “What kind of person would drive something like that?” Or, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Granted, she could have been having a weird reaction to a stroke or something, but I’m pretty sure I saw what I saw. Then today, I was at a four-way stop, and a guy in a Nissan Titan/Toyota Tundra or something smiled and then chuckled like: “What a tool.” Or, who would drive something like that?”

The multiple laughing fits are obviously not making Jesse happy; however, even worse, since no obvious negativity was directed toward him, Jesse is doubting whether people are indeed laughing at him.

Here is what he added…

“I could be a little paranoid, but I think I saw what I saw, more or less. The thing is, what is so wrong with our society that people can feel so smug about their judgments about something or someone that they can feel free to openly mock or jeer at others that they don’t even know? I could get way into this, but I won’t.”

Being the town's laughingstock after spending $100,000 on a truck is definitely not ideal. Jesse, on his part, suggests Elon Musk’s controversial nature is to blame for the people laughing at him.

Jesse continues his post…

“I understand that Musk is on the wrong side of the line for many people, including myself. But the desire to cancel is so hard for me to understand. I not only don’t like the Toyota Prius, I hate it. But I’m not going to pull up to a driver of a Prius and feign hysteria because they’re so ridiculous. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.”

Finally, despite all the challenges, Jesse ends his post by reaffirming his love for his Cybertruck and offering some advice to the people pointing and laughing at him in the streets.

Jesse writes, I’ll keep driving my Cybertruck, regardless of the haters. But I sure hope people can have some grace in these divided times.”

Reading Jesse’s post, on the one hand, I do feel bad for his plight; as I have said multiple times already, it’s not fun to be constantly mocked.

Having said that, it also makes me wonder who is to blame for all the negative attention the Cybertruck attracts.

The vehicle's design is undoubtedly controversial. There is nothing like it on the road, and it sure turns heads.

The low polygonal design is definitely not for everyone. However, this still doesn't explain why the vehicle triggers people so much.

There are many things throughout the day that people encounter that they do not like, but they still do not point a finger and laugh at the person who made that decision.

Jesse seems to believe all the negativity is because of Elon Musk. However, please let me know what you think in the comments below. Share your ideas by clicking the red “Add new comment” button below. Also, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

We have just boiled down to the reason why they buy those ugly ass things. Attention. He just expected the other kind of attention.

The reason why everyone laughs at everyone driving a cyber truck is because it is an absolutely comical attempt at getting attention. No one with any self esteem whatsoever has ever bought a cybertruck or ever will. The same reason everyone laughs at the idiot in the hugely lifted pickup truck. You will never be cool in one. It’s an impossibility. It doesn’t even have anything to do with how big of a total doucher Elon musk is or that his father married his sister. That’s just icing on the cake.

Is this for real? Dude is driving an overpriced vehicle named CyberTruck that is not actually a truck and apparently can't function like one in any meaningful way, has numerous documented quality issues, and is promoted by one of the two most obnoxious and think-skinned billionaires/conmen in America, and he wonders why he's being laughed at? This guy is who P.T. Barnum had wet dreams about.

It's me, I'm laughing at you. My Prius will keep on trucking until the heat death of the universe while your origami car rusts in the fog.

Hey Jesse don't fret,I felt the same way about the hummer when they first came out,I said to myself why in the world would anybody want to buy a army vehicle, now fast foward I'm saying the same thing about the cybertruck, not for me but to each his own I say.

You spent $100,000 on a truck that can't actually do truck things, looks like a 5-year-old kid designed it, and is so dangerous multiple insurance companies refuse to insure it. What a ridiculous thing to waste your money on, and in this economy, it's no wonder everyone laughs while you publicly flaunt such a dumb decision.

Steve (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 11:42AM

If I were going to laugh derisively at a tool driving a Cybertruck, it would 100% be because of Elon Musk.

Johnny5 (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 11:49AM

LOL, I laugh at them every time I see one. It's too damn funny that someone spent so much money on something so broken to pretend to be cool on the internet.

Walter (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 12:39PM

Yes, they are laughing at you. Reasons why they might think it's funny: It's absolutely ridiculous looking? Uglier than an Aztec, if that's even possible, and yet somehow the Muskrat proved it is? Looks like a massive stainless steel fridge fell over on its side, sprouted wheels, and rolled off? You paid over a 100 freaking K for this? Not so funny reasons: the sharp angled edges of this thing are going to cut through whoever you collide with like a knife. Did you not notice that when you were buying it? Did you pause and think for a second about why most vehicles have rounded edges and not sharp angles and why this might be so? Hope you are ready when you slam into that Prius you hate, open it like a can opener, and decapitate everyone in it. Final not funny reason: Musk. No one is laughing at you for this. Trust me. The guy spending a million a day to buy votes. Not even close to funny.

The cyber truck has taken the title from the Pontiac Aztec for the ugliest modern car ever made.
It looks like the same exact vehicle every man in America drew in second grade with a ruler. That’s why I typically laugh at them. It looks like the vehicle I thought would be awesome when I was seven years old.
Beyond that, They are enormous and tend to stick out like sore thumbs in parking lots and on the road. Highlighting the hideous design.
Beyond that Elon Musk is a threat to national security. In Putin’s pocket.

It's a terrible car. It's simply a VERY BAD car. Who doesn't get that? The warranty gets voided if you take it through the car wash, or if you drive on a road with POTHOLES. The act of DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN TENNESSEE is enough to void the warranty!

Kacia Glimmer (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 2:10PM

I laugh because I assume the main reason someone buys a CT is clout chasing and all it tells me is that you were dumb enough to blow a fortune on an ugly vehicle with limited utility and a history of problems. It also makes me think you're trying to worship Elon Musk, which doesn't make you look any better in my eyes.

JeffSmith (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 2:27PM

There's no single reason to laugh at the cybertruck. It's all the reasons combined that makes people treat it with derision - it's ugly, is often reported to not function correctly, has finger-chopping edges, isn't "bulletproof," looks silly, is an obvious cry for attention, and was created by Space Karen.

It's a joke from start to finish. Try to enjoy the fact that not everyone is laughing at it.

LT (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 2:34PM

First of all, it’s $100,000 vehicle that is ugly. It is so ugly, it is almost like it is shouting “stare at me!” Which says something bad about the ego of the driver.

Secondly, we hear about all of its technical failures.

The “stainless” steel rusts easily.

The long wheelbase makes it unsuitable for off-road driving. We all remember the cyber truck that went off-road into the mud and had to be rescued by an F150, right?

Even minor flooding can cause the battery to catch fire (in notable contrast to Rivian’s trucks-as discovered in the South Carolina floods).

We’ve read stories of the electronics inexplicably bricking the truck without warning.

Lastly, it is putting money into Elon Musk’s pocket, who is becoming more and more exposed as a grifter and possibly a seditionist (Putin-pal). So this makes us look at the driver as potentially either someone with anti-American political views, or a credulous mark who fell prey to the grifter’s marketing, to the whopping figure of $100k.

To summarize, it’s ugly, it doesn’t function well as a truck, and it cost too much. That’s why people laugh at the people who buy them.

Trump4life (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 2:50PM

Liberals hate Elon Musk so they laugh at cybertruck owners. True patriots support Musk and 45 (soon to be 47). USA! USA! USA!

EPI DIVA'S (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 3:01PM

U are being laughed at because it is f....ing ugly. Wouldn't be caught dead in that truck....can't wait to see it all dinged up.

Susan Delzeit (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 3:30PM

I point and laugh in their faces as well. We don't laugh because of Musk. We laugh because in this day and age we can't believe how vapid and clueless people who buy that shit are! $100k for that? You just want people to look at you.

Tommy Ward (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 3:55PM

It makes a statement, unfortunately for Jesse the statement is not heard in the way he thought it would. It's ugly. It's dangerous to pedestrians. It has well documented quality and design faults. Since it costs $100k or so, it also implies either the driver has a lot of money or a lot of debt, tied up in a vehicle that is very much associated with an offensive public personality.

Anyone who buys one of these and is surprised by the negative reactions seems out of touch.

PK Beebe (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 4:03PM

I can tell you exactly why I despise the Cybertruck and it has nothing to do with Elon Musk: It’s because it's UGLY. But mainly, it screams elitist hubris. While more and more of us are struggling to keep our aging cars running -- much less dream of buying a brand new Hyundai or Kia -- people like Jesse feel it necessary to flaunt their considerable wealth by buying one of the most expensive, yet least practical vehicles on offer. Jealous? YOU BETCHA. And I can own my envy, no problem. So Jesse, people are going to point and laugh. Their reasons are personal and varied I'm sure. And they're entitled to. Suck it up.

Mike (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 4:32PM

Since the Silverado EV is a superior electric truck by every metric, it's obvious that this truck was purchased only for the reaction to its appearance. And I say this as the owner of two Teslas. So, why complain when you get a reaction? Maybe because deep down, you know...

Stiv (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 5:05PM

It's because you're driving an expensive, ridiculous-looking, notoriously unreliable vehicle that you likely bought because of the cult of personality surrounding one of the world's most publicly awful people

I laugh every time I see one, too

Fred (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 5:09PM

It's because the trucks look lame, they're made of shoddy components, the electronics are dodgy, the wheels break, getting them wet stains them and voids the warranty, and they spend a great deal of their life on the flatbed after getting bricked. And you can burn yourself on the flat screen because there's inadequate cooling for the processor.

It's just such a ridiculous waste of money that we can't help but laugh at the tools who bought them.

mj (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 5:11PM

because if you needed a truck you wouldn't get one of these.
They're all about the look what I Got mentality.

John (not verified)    October 27, 2024 - 7:10PM

You bought a garbage safety hazard on wheels from a fascist/apartheid grifter and scammer. I agree this is no laughing matter...
