I Don’t Know Why Women Keep Laughing at Me When I’m Out Driving my Tesla Cybertruck

A Tesla Cybertruck owner says there is a concerted effort to publicly shame people who drive the all-electric truck. He recounts several instances where people pointed and laughed at him while driving his Cybertruck.

Jesse is a Cybertruck owner who goes by the handle “Sturdybirdy” on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. Although he spent more than $100,000 to purchase his Cybertruck, Jesse is unhappy with the reaction he’s getting when driving his truck.

The Cybertruck owner shared his negative experience on the forum under the title “The New Attack on the Cybertruck: Derision.” He went into detail about this “attack,” first, highlighting the negative reaction he has gotten from women.

Here is what he wrote…

“I was taking a right turn out of a convenience store driveway the other day, waiting for the traffic to go by, and noticed the driver, a female, was apparently laughing hysterically at my truck. She was alone, pointing at my truck and laughing hard.

I initially smiled because what else could I do, but after a second or two, I realized she was laughing derisively. She was like, “What kind of person would drive something like that?” Or, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Granted, she could have been having a weird reaction to a stroke or something, but I’m pretty sure I saw what I saw. Then today, I was at a four-way stop, and a guy in a Nissan Titan/Toyota Tundra or something smiled and then chuckled like: “What a tool.” Or, who would drive something like that?”

The multiple laughing fits are obviously not making Jesse happy; however, even worse, since no obvious negativity was directed toward him, Jesse is doubting whether people are indeed laughing at him.

Here is what he added…

“I could be a little paranoid, but I think I saw what I saw, more or less. The thing is, what is so wrong with our society that people can feel so smug about their judgments about something or someone that they can feel free to openly mock or jeer at others that they don’t even know? I could get way into this, but I won’t.”

Being the town's laughingstock after spending $100,000 on a truck is definitely not ideal. Jesse, on his part, suggests Elon Musk’s controversial nature is to blame for the people laughing at him.

Jesse continues his post…

“I understand that Musk is on the wrong side of the line for many people, including myself. But the desire to cancel is so hard for me to understand. I not only don’t like the Toyota Prius, I hate it. But I’m not going to pull up to a driver of a Prius and feign hysteria because they’re so ridiculous. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.”

Finally, despite all the challenges, Jesse ends his post by reaffirming his love for his Cybertruck and offering some advice to the people pointing and laughing at him in the streets.

Jesse writes, I’ll keep driving my Cybertruck, regardless of the haters. But I sure hope people can have some grace in these divided times.”

Reading Jesse’s post, on the one hand, I do feel bad for his plight; as I have said multiple times already, it’s not fun to be constantly mocked.

Having said that, it also makes me wonder who is to blame for all the negative attention the Cybertruck attracts.

The vehicle's design is undoubtedly controversial. There is nothing like it on the road, and it sure turns heads.

The low polygonal design is definitely not for everyone. However, this still doesn't explain why the vehicle triggers people so much.

There are many things throughout the day that people encounter that they do not like, but they still do not point a finger and laugh at the person who made that decision.

Jesse seems to believe all the negativity is because of Elon Musk. However, please let me know what you think in the comments below. Share your ideas by clicking the red “Add new comment” button below. Also, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

As a woman, laughing at the truck has NOTHING to do with Musk. I don't understand the design, all the recalls and the ridiculous price. However I would never point and laugh. Sorry about thet

The truck is an abomination. The design is what is being laughed at . It is the edsel of the Tesla line. So get ready for your feelings to be hurt. You bought it to be looked at so you have to take the bad in tow. Get some butt paste and grow up.

Maybe it's just me, but why do you care what someone thinks about your vehicle? Did you buy the CT so people would think you're cool/rich/smart? If you like it, enjoy it, and ignore everyone else. If you bought the CT for some sort of recognition/ego boost, then you might want to re-evaluate your priorities. With that being said, I personally don't like the look of the CT. But, I don't have to drive it, so it shouldn't matter what I think...

For $100k I would take a rivian first, lighting second, and basically anything but a cybertruck. But as I will never be able to afford an EV of any kind, the point is moot.

Dude bought the Incel Camino. Das Wankpanzer. A vehicle that seems to be optimized for endangering lives, since it is gigantic, has sharp edges, and has reinforced windows that make it harder for the fire department to get you out of it in the event of something going horribly wrong.

A vehicle marketed as being tough enough for the Apocalypse that cannot handle rain or a car wash. A vehicle championed by an insane man throwing the full weight of his wealth and incompetence behind a presidential candidate intent to taking away the rights of most of the country and whose economic policies will crater the economy harder than his party usually does.

Dude is lucky he's getting mocking laughter and not thrown rocks.

I own a Model 3 and am ashamed of being seen in it. Elon is loose canon. I’m worried that if he throws an actual Elon sized temper tantrum that he will turn all our Teslas into Bricks.

My best friend who is female thinks its hilariously ugly. She is ignorant of politics and knows almost nothing about elon musk or EVs. First one she saw she thought it was a joke home made car. I showed one to her in a parking lot, and we were both laughing at the body panels that had corners sticking out 1/2 inch past where they should be.
Its a hilariously bad vehicle. Looks like a 4 year old drew it up. Has the worst quality control I have ever seen on a car, my unrestored 68 chevy has better aligned panels after 60 years of sag. And is almost exclusively bought by douchebags.

The title of this article should be "I spent $100k so women would not laugh at me, but it's still happening?"

Chris (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 3:35AM

They laugh because owning a cybertruck marks you out as a deeply ridiculous person, a village idiot desperate for validation from others while having absolutely no clue how to get it.

David (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 5:45AM

It's part Musk, part anti ev generated by the right. I love the look of the vehicle.
Though I think it looks better with a wrap.

Roy (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 6:18AM

It’s an uglyarse truck that costs way too much money and you have been fooled in to buying it from a fascist twat.
Apart from that it’s fine…..but very funny.
He deserves the derision. He gets. I don’t give teslas any respect or allowance on the road. Only twats drive them.

Vernon Gravdal (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 7:35AM

I'm sorry but in my opinion Teslas Cybertruck is the ugliest thing on the road these days. But what do I know, I still think the AMC Gremlin was a cool car.....

Paul Roy (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 7:35AM

While there is no need to be nasty, I laugh inside when I see a CT. I thought it was the ugliest thing I had even seen. Then I saw it in person, and I was sure of it! It is my OPINION. Elon Musk has chosen to publicly support a man who is running for the highest office based on misleading and false statements, name calling, and threats. And you complain that “they are laughing at me”? If you can’t live in their world, don’t buy their stuff.

I am me (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 7:56AM

You bought a CT to get a certain type of attention, hoping to get laid perhaps? Instead you are a laughing stock, as everyone knows, town Douchebags are self identifying by driving CTs, a vehicle rhat fails to be a truck, or an effective electric vehicle. You deserve to be laughed at, and any girl you tell that you have a CT instead of treating you lime the hot item will laugh at you, just accept it. Or even better, trade it in. Oh wait you can't since it's value dropped by so much in the 5 minutes you owned the trade in value is non existent, HA!

John (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 8:24AM

The CT gets the same reaction I gave the original Hummer. It is an absurd vehicle that's only purpose is to attract attention, which is sad for the driver/owner. Conspicuous consumption.

Epic Thunder (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 9:06AM

It's a butt-ugly vehicle, as though someone handed a crayon to a 5 year old and said "Draw a truck," and that design was brought to live. It's poorly built (as some commenter already mentioned) and insurance companies are balking at covering it because of the damage it causes other vehicles in accidents. It is a bad idea, from top to bottom, and the fact that people pay so much for it says a lot about them.

At least, that's why I think she was laughing....

Mike (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 10:17AM

I would say 80% of folks don't like the looks, and maybe 20% do. Time will tell if it is a success or ends up with the Pontiac Aztec.

Logic (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 10:29AM

This is the most braindead insecure babydick thing ive ever read. This was written and submitted by the same mentally 7 year old guaranteed.

What a bunch of babies! "WAAAHHHH someone's laughing at me!" Shut up ya fag, don't worry about what other people think. Get some self-confidence ya homo

I recently purchased a new Toyota TRD Pro offroad 4runner. Prior to this I was really wanting a land rover. I looked at them loved them built several versions online, test drove one and loved it more. I still see them and have a twinge of regret, but I love my runner.
Here's the thing, while I could have afforded the land rover, something about spending 98k on a car just didn't sit right. I looked at hybrids, did research on the carbon footprint, after all the planet needs our help.

At this point there are too many issues associated with electric cars from the batteries to available power to how ugly they are for the most part. My opinion. They are not as good for the environment as they are being touted as, and are causing problems for first responders.

Poor Jesse is probably right, people are laughing at his choice. I'm a little embarrassed to say I myself have rolled my eyes at the red one that showed up in my town, and I just discovered one in my neighborhood behind a locked gate. I slowed down because I needed to make absolute sure I had seen it.

Jesse is also correct that what vehicle he drives and what he spends his money on is no one's business. Good luck Jesse, I will do my best to do better I'm sure you don't appreciate my gas guzzling runner. Her name is Noreen and she's a keeper.

Blair (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 11:55AM

Personally I don't care what anyone drives as long as it's road worthy. That being said calling that a truck is a stretch of the imagination. I own 2 actual trucks so I'm not biased. They're new and most people like myself will not consider that a truck.

Not John (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 12:41PM

"There just haters there mad cause they can't afford one them self's who would drive a prius any way"

This 100% has to be satire. Nobody can make this many mistakes in one sentence.

DPnavpoc (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 2:41PM

A Prius doesn't get bricked going thru a car wash. This makes the Prius a safer bet in a rainstorm. I also found it cute that only people you can bust on,are Prius owners. Last but not least, you need your man card pulled, you came to the Internet looking for support because women are laughing at your poor life choice.

tom stephens (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 3:33PM

Anyone laughing at your vehicle can and should be ignored. They are simply not worth your time and probably represent risk you really don't need in your life.

If you got your truck because of the battery life, the price, the performance and its capacity to haul, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

If you then add a home PV solution for charging, you should start laughing at them, because there's at least one state that will run out of electricity and gasoline in 2025 (take a wild guess which).
