I Don’t Know Why Women Keep Laughing at Me When I’m Out Driving my Tesla Cybertruck

A Tesla Cybertruck owner says there is a concerted effort to publicly shame people who drive the all-electric truck. He recounts several instances where people pointed and laughed at him while driving his Cybertruck.

Jesse is a Cybertruck owner who goes by the handle “Sturdybirdy” on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. Although he spent more than $100,000 to purchase his Cybertruck, Jesse is unhappy with the reaction he’s getting when driving his truck.

The Cybertruck owner shared his negative experience on the forum under the title “The New Attack on the Cybertruck: Derision.” He went into detail about this “attack,” first, highlighting the negative reaction he has gotten from women.

Here is what he wrote…

“I was taking a right turn out of a convenience store driveway the other day, waiting for the traffic to go by, and noticed the driver, a female, was apparently laughing hysterically at my truck. She was alone, pointing at my truck and laughing hard.

I initially smiled because what else could I do, but after a second or two, I realized she was laughing derisively. She was like, “What kind of person would drive something like that?” Or, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Granted, she could have been having a weird reaction to a stroke or something, but I’m pretty sure I saw what I saw. Then today, I was at a four-way stop, and a guy in a Nissan Titan/Toyota Tundra or something smiled and then chuckled like: “What a tool.” Or, who would drive something like that?”

The multiple laughing fits are obviously not making Jesse happy; however, even worse, since no obvious negativity was directed toward him, Jesse is doubting whether people are indeed laughing at him.

Here is what he added…

“I could be a little paranoid, but I think I saw what I saw, more or less. The thing is, what is so wrong with our society that people can feel so smug about their judgments about something or someone that they can feel free to openly mock or jeer at others that they don’t even know? I could get way into this, but I won’t.”

Being the town's laughingstock after spending $100,000 on a truck is definitely not ideal. Jesse, on his part, suggests Elon Musk’s controversial nature is to blame for the people laughing at him.

Jesse continues his post…

“I understand that Musk is on the wrong side of the line for many people, including myself. But the desire to cancel is so hard for me to understand. I not only don’t like the Toyota Prius, I hate it. But I’m not going to pull up to a driver of a Prius and feign hysteria because they’re so ridiculous. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.”

Finally, despite all the challenges, Jesse ends his post by reaffirming his love for his Cybertruck and offering some advice to the people pointing and laughing at him in the streets.

Jesse writes, I’ll keep driving my Cybertruck, regardless of the haters. But I sure hope people can have some grace in these divided times.”

Reading Jesse’s post, on the one hand, I do feel bad for his plight; as I have said multiple times already, it’s not fun to be constantly mocked.

Having said that, it also makes me wonder who is to blame for all the negative attention the Cybertruck attracts.

The vehicle's design is undoubtedly controversial. There is nothing like it on the road, and it sure turns heads.

The low polygonal design is definitely not for everyone. However, this still doesn't explain why the vehicle triggers people so much.

There are many things throughout the day that people encounter that they do not like, but they still do not point a finger and laugh at the person who made that decision.

Jesse seems to believe all the negativity is because of Elon Musk. However, please let me know what you think in the comments below. Share your ideas by clicking the red “Add new comment” button below. Also, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

I was riding around in my Silverado 3500 dually and saw a guy riding in his cyber truck. I thought to myself "I'm so glad conservative men are secure enough in their manhood to finally decide kissing other men is a good thing." So I followed him to ask him out on a date because there's nothing I like more than kissing a manly man on the mouth. Long story short, I have a restraining order against me and he's not a great kisser anyway.

If you don't want to kiss me then don't drive that vehicle. You're sending mixed signals. We don't need females, we just need big trucks and to rub our beards together.

i point and laugh because the cybertruck is a tragic broken product even before we get to price, it looks bad but not in an interesting way, and also because musk is a tool. It's the combination that does it for me.

Hmm. I’m not jealous: I drive a $130k+ electric car and nobody is laughing at me. It’s sexy, fast and fun.

They are laughing at the cybertruck because it’s hideous to look at. The scale is all wrong for our streets so the size demands attention. It’s like a very young child drew a hummer and someone made it out of the underside of aluminum foil. The interior is nothing but disappointing. It’s just not a sexy thing. Great battery though. LOL.

BUT if you love it, enjoy it. Just know it’s an ugly thing and people will laugh at it.

Hey man, its probably jealousy, hold your head high man, you've got something unique most people can't afford.

lmfao as a gay trans woman, now you know how it feels to be objectified and looked down upon for shitty, petty reasons.

"what is so wrong with our society that people can feel so smug about their judgments about something or someone that they can feel free to openly mock or jeer at others that they don’t even know?"

seriously this quote is incredibly real, and yet, what a petty, inconsequential, first world white man problem to waste it on. Suck it up and deal with it like the rest of us less privelaged than you do every day.

You decided to buy the overpriced ego machine, you can take the hit. Maybe spend your fat stacks of cash on something else like charity or some cause you believe in instead of lining the pockets of a nasty conman next time.

I never thought I'd be able to hear how small some one's penis is. He is upset people may not think his truck is cool, and is convincing himself that it must be a conspiracy, lol.

Bob Swaja (not verified)    October 28, 2024 - 10:40PM

I don’t like the truck. Well, part of me does.

People are small though. We have to masturbate our egos from time to time and I think that’s most of it

“Hurr hurr, you bought the jumping Trump man truck, hurr hurr.”

For that you should be ashamed that you bought it, but I won’t laugh at you.

It’s most likely that those people recognize a sucker when they see one. Sold on a 500 mile apocalyptic proof vehicle that barely gets half that and bricks in a car wash. Congrats, you played yourself.

There's nothing "concerted" about this. I personally point and laugh at anybody seated in a four-wheeled prosthetic penis and have done so for ages.

The fact that the Apartheid Manchild made this one causes the laughter to be more tasty.

If he enjoys it and is happy with his decision to buy it and his use of it, then their derision should slide right off him.
The fact that it doesn't suggests strongly that he bought it not for practical reasons, or personal aesthetic pleasure, but to send a signal to others.
He IS sending a signal, but apparently it is not the one he intended.

There are only a few possible signals to consider..
1) Veblenian conspicuous consumption. "I have so much money to burn I can overspend it on garbage I don't need.
There's probably a little of this here. Though quite common, it merits derision.

2) He actually thinks the car is cool, and that other people would think he was cool because he drove it. Merits derision from most POV, whether practical or aesthetic.

3) He is an Elon stan and wants the world to know! Goes without saying this is laughable.

They're laughing at him bc he paid $100K to own an ugly piece of crap - an objectively terrible, poorly made car - solely for cultural signalling reasons, and that he doesn't seem to realize that the signal's content - to most of the world paying attention, is "I am a tool".
Again, why does he care what they think, unless he bought it to influence their thinking?

Averie Gunn (not verified)    November 1, 2024 - 8:05PM

It's painfully obvious when someone is trying to purchase their way into being respected by others, and anyone with even a modicum of common sense is going to have nothing but disdain for that kind of emotionally needy bullsh*t in a grown adult.

Everything it promises can be done better and more reliably by other vehicles (which also don't frequently explode or lock people in under water), so it's pretty obvious they're buying it as a status symbol. Too bad the status they're symbolizing is "my dad never hugged me".

You know what costs way less than $100,000 and would probably help lil Jesse's self-esteem a lot more? Therapy.

There's so much wrong with the CT from looks to multiple quantity control issues that it's hard not to wonder why someone would spend a small fortune on one. That and EM's relatively new decision to be as divisive as possible has really tarnished Tesla as a brand.

That said if the gentleman is the kind of person who *really* practices courtesy and live and let live towards others then I agree, it's his money. People can think what they want, no need to act like you're on the internet when you're in public.

The Woke Agenda (not verified)    November 4, 2024 - 10:12AM

Darn, you caught us!
You're right, the woke left and the "females" all got together at a big meeting and decided that we were gonna stick it to Elon by pretending to laugh at your over-priced, poorly constructed, punchline on wheels.

But don't worry! Since you clearly don't agree with Mr. Musk- as someone who definitely didn't follow him with a devotion strong enough to make you believe your car was cool and desirable enough to spend 100k on- we'll stop mocking you.

Jes (not verified)    November 4, 2024 - 9:57PM

We're laughing because you bought an ugly, low-quality truck for a truly absurd amount of money, and we think that reflects badly on your taste and judgement.

It's not so much that we have contempt for your truck because Elon is controversial - they're related, but it's an issue of common cause, not cause and effect. The root problem is that Elon is an immature manbaby who doesn't take feedback and has an overinflated sense of his own intelligence. This results in him being unable to stop making a public spectacle of himself on the internet AND it resulted in him making an extremely poorly designed and low-quality car over the objections of actual engineers and trying to sell it for exorbitant amounts of money which it is absolutely not worth.

That's not why we're laughing at *you* though. We're laughing at you because you had the poor judgement to give up actual real money for a car that's held together with elmers glue and optimism and will rust in a heavy fog.

cybertrucks ar… (not verified)    November 5, 2024 - 11:02AM

nah bro cybertrucks are legit just funny to look at. first time i saw one in person i couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes. its like if you saw someone driving a motorized pencil around town. like huh? you looked at that and decided to buy it? that thing? really? for 100k? some kid's first attempt at designing a car in a 3d modeling program that he quit halfway through?
