A Cybertruck owner from New Jersey says his truck was vandalized only 3 days after he took delivery.
The Cybertruck owner, who goes by the username Eclipse, says he took delivery of his truck and went directly to a detail shop to apply a bright red wrap over it.
However, less than 24 hours after picking up his Cybertruck from the wrap shop, his truck was scratched up by an old woman he had never seen.
When Eclipse’s Cybertruck was vandalized, it was parked at his apartment complex.
This is bad enough; however, making matters worse, Eclipse shares that this is his second Cybertruck after Tesla had to buy back his first truck because of persistent issues.
The frustrated Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Tesla Cybertruck Owners group on Facebook.
He writes…
“So I just picked up my second Foundation series Cybertruck on Wednesday. (Tesla repurchased the original one I had three weeks ago.)
I tinted it Wednesday night. I had it wrapped and picked it up on Friday, and not even 24 hours later, a Karen decided to scratch up the entire left side of the vinyl and kick the back tailgate wrap.
She literally picked up mulch next to the truck and used it to scratch up the top of the vinyl and the door.
She had no reservations. It was almost as if she saw it, and something just triggered her. Keep in mind this is 2 PM in the afternoon. I guess she didn’t realize that the truck had cameras and so did the apartment complex.
We will find her lol.
Edit
( I forgot to mention that she then stands there, looks at her work, takes a call for about a minute, and decides to walk away).”
Below his post, Eclipse shared several videos and pictures.
The first video shows an elderly woman approaching Eclipse’s Cybertruck from the side. She looks at the truck for a moment, then proceeds to kick it with her shoes. Afterward, she looks around, picks up some dirt, and rubs it over the bright red wrap, causing scratches.
In the second video, the woman walks behind Eclipse’s Cybertruck and kicks the truck once more before leaving.
The videos were captured using the Cybertruck’s Sentry Camera; however, Eclipse also shares several pictures that show the damage to his Cybertruck wrap.
In one of the pictures, you can see Eclipse’s Cybertruck covered in mulch and the bright red wrap scratched up.
Eclipse also shares a poster he created featuring the picture of the elderly woman, asking the neighbors if anyone knows the lady who damaged his Cybertruck.
The poster he put up throughout his apartment complex reads…
“Do you know who she is?
She was seen Saturday, March 15, at 2:05 PM, damaging a vehicle in front of Building B.
Please contact me or Bloomfield police.
Case number 25-18680”
Looking at the comments, people were primarily interested in whether the woman was caught.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Mike Miller, writes…
“PLEASE, tell us you found her and the police have made an arrest? If not, keep us updated on the capture of this bufoon!!!”
Another Cybertruck owner, John T. Holmes, seconds this sentiment writing…
“Hope they catch her and prosecute her to the full extent of the law.”
In response, Eclipse says he hasn’t yet been able to locate the old lady who damaged his truck.
He writes…
“Nothing yet, but my town police have all the footage. We’ll see if deputy dog can actually catch somebody.”
Overall, it's important to note that damaging someone’s vehicle is not acceptable and is a crime.
The current trend of Tesla protests, where vehicles are set on fire and Tesla service centers get shot up, needs to stop immediately.
If people do not like Tesla, they can simply choose not to purchase the company’s vehicles.
This violent behavior ultimately harms the vehicle owners, the community, and, as we have seen recently, can result in extended jail time for the offenders.
